Walked across the city just to come try the muffaletta. Got there at 3:30 on a Sunday, walked up to the counter, and was told... drinks only kitchen is closed. I said nevermind and stepped away. Literally 15 seconds later that same man walked out of thekitchen to serve a muffaletta to someone else. Wouldn't recommend that you go out of your way to come here since they may notserve you food. Had a Muffaletta for a late lunch at the French market. Service was a bit slow due to crowd but the taste was unique with fresh... ingredients. A nice place to get few healthy, gluten free vegetarian option! This was the first stop on our New Orleans trip for a muffaletta sandwhich and I can tell you it was worth it. In my quest for THE muffuletta Alberto?s has a lot of pros: the bread to filling ratio is balanced, the bread is chewy, the meat... and cheese are fresh and flavorful; the cons: the muffuletta is heated (this is a personal preference so it might be a pro toyou); the olive salad is crunchy but in my opinion needs more olives to give it that just-right briny saltiness. The size forhalf a muffuletta is standard and can be shared between two. The price is also competitive. Service is fast and expect to waitfor your food as it is made to order. Heard of this place from my sister that loves their Muffaletta's so she made me bring her one. Well we ordered the cheese plate... and let me tell youuuuuuu. The woman at the register was very kind and was really the one who made me consider eating here. I got a egg sandwich?cheddar,... spinach, and 2 eggs on a croissant. Soooooo good!
