Busy as expected due to being short staffed. Expect to wait about 20 -30 minutes even when the order is called in. Ordered bulk... chopped pork, hash, hushpuppies and slaw with dill pickles on the side. Pleased with everything except the slaw. I havent hadCarolina BBQ in a while...use to get it often when I worked nearby but the slaw was always one of my favorite sides. Its totallydifferent now...no flavor at all...bland. The food was horrible. The table was so sticky that our plates stuck to it. I guess they wanted to make sure you didn't spill... anything??? Worst of all the lady taking the money and pouring tea was right nasty. She evidently does not know how to smile ormake you feel welcome. We used to go there as a child and that was our go-to barbecue place. I was on my way back from the beachand wanted to stop there for lunch. I had my mouth so set for Carolina barbecue. I know things have changed, but Bar-B-Que down south is never processed in a food processor, and today I'm pretty certain this... is how it was done. I've been coming here since the late 1960's and this has been the best for that long. Today, outside ofstill having the best Hash around the meat was gummy and easy to tell it was not pulled or chopped pork. The world has changedbut this 4th I'll be smoking my own butts.... Note: the Service was good, hash and rice, Hushpuppies were great, all the rest Ican live without. After today, not certain the'll make it long unless they go back in time about 20 years. Super friendly staff and food was good. Loved the baked beans and the hush puppies. Bbq chicken was a little dry but good flavor
We went in on a Saturday evening. It was not too busy. This was our first time visiting so we were not sure what exactly to do.... We saw Bradley, and he was very friendly and very helpful. He told us how the line worked. I was not sure what all the foodswere, but everything I tried was very good. The barbecue sauces were not what I am used to but they were interesting to try. Irecommend trying this place if you never been there. Read more
This place is a legit classic South Carolina BBQ spot. The employees are very friendly and the food is wonderful. Tastes just... like family home cooking. Hash and bbq por are fantastic. Mac and cheese is super cheesy. The nice staff member recommended okraand it was a great choice! Great portion sizes. Read more
