Reviews for Grove's Black Dog Saloon in New Castle, CO
What a fun local bar and eatery. Awesome selection of Pub classics done well. Not over greasy and didn't have that cheap... prefrozen feel. Ordered a Burger and Chicken Tenders. They were so tasty and juicy without feeling greasy. The décor andambiance were casual and fun! Great music and lots of fun things to peek at. Staff was very friendly and and the kitchen timewas reasonable! I shall return! Read more
Wings were dry, service slow. Ate my dinner with no drink because the bartender didn't come back. They are newly opened and... hoping they improve but quality is not on par with Black Dog. Read more
Elk burger with cranberry jelly and fries was tasty. Restaurant recently changed ownership and name to Black Bear. Great service... and hospitality. Read more

Had a great experience at the Black Dog last Friday! I got the special burger for the evening with sweet potato fries, and I was... not disappointed. I loved how the peanut sauce worked so well with the bacon jam on the burger, never would have that of that. The service was great, and the so were the drinks. I highly recommend the "Cool Shorts" cocktail. So refreshing with summerseason coming. Will definitely be back! Read more
Great friendly service, good food, spectacular mixed drinks, fun entertainment, and memorable night of my Mother's Birthday and... dollar bills added to the display on the ceiling remembering MY MAN ???? Dr. BRUCE D Lippman II. THANKS BLACK DOG Read more
Love this place! The $5 happy hour apps and the fish sliders are the bomb. Excellent customer service.
Unfortunately this is not the Black Dog anymore. The Black Dog sold last winter and there are new owners. This is a review of... the Black Bear which is the new name for the same location. The quality of the menu and service has declined greatly, there areno longer any vegetarian options on the menu. I really want to like this pub as we had so many great experiences at the BlackDog and there aren't many places in town to get a draft beer, but each time I've been there we have been disappointed. The gyrois good with plenty of veggies, and the fries are good. Nachos came in a basket, toppings only on top of a basket of nakedchips. Read more
