In New Bern for business on a Monday and spending the night. Found this place with good reviews and walking distance from the... Doubletree. Great craft beer selection. I had a Philly cheese steak that was very good. To my surprise a band was setting upto play. Did I say it was Monday night? Not only was there live music on a Monday but the band was really good! Played what Iwould call Texas Blues. Will come back. Read more

The crab dip the chips were burnt. The baked potato I waited on for dessert which I was told being cooked came out cold. Plus... was told there was no more butter. Sanitation was 92.5 when I told the waitress she rolled her eyes and came back and gave me 15percent off. Red snapper I got tasted like it was frozen and dry . Salad tasted like everything else in the refrigerator Read more

My husband and I ate here within the last 6 months. After reading the reviews, I feel I have to put my 2 cents, although this... may be to expensive for some of the people writing reviews. If some people think that paying $18.99 for a good meal, greatservice, and a very unique atmosphere, is too much, they need to stick to fast food establishments. Which, by the way, is moreexpensive to dine at than this fine restaurant. We had a wonderful and pleasant time. The food was great. The staff wasattentive and friendly. I guess if you give attitude you get attitude. We will definitely make this restaurant our number oneplace to dine in New Bern. Thank you guys, at Pirate's Cove, for making our dining experience so much fun. We'll see yousoon!! Read more

All you can eat oysters, is a lie. Truth is it all they will sever you at there time rate. Oysters were very dirty , lots of... pieces of shell. It took more than a half hour for me to be served my first plate. So after the third plate. When they decidedto sever me. An the bartender not ask me one time after taking are order if I would like another beer I had to ask for that too.So for the 75 dollars I spent . I should have just waited til oysters season. So the beer was cold that why this place only get2 star from me. Will never get my money again Read more

I preface this stating that we know it is hard to hire right now. All customers want is an update on their food. The live fish... tank in the bar is not entertaining enough to cover how long your food takes. Just Don?t unless you don?t mind wasting your daywaiting for your food. Stopped here before starting a 3 hour drive home. We were excited because they had everything we werecraving. We had mentioned while ordering beers that we were starving and ordered the crab chowder. 20 minutes later, when weasked the bartender where our soup was, we were told she was also surprised it was taking so long. So why didn?t you ask?!Apparently the cook normally doesn?t work Sundays so she forgot about the soup?.hmmmm must not serve soup M-Sat. We then waited50 minutes for our food and asked again, where is our food. We were THEN informed the steamer was ?f?d up?. Well what we orderedwas All to be steamed-I mean they are a seafood restaurant. So we obviously said forget it. The soup, the beers and theexperience were not worth the $30 we had to pay. Oh! And make sure you ask what they?re out of before you order. Read more

We stopped here for a late lunch on the way home from a spring break trip, and we will be making this a regular stop from now... on. We had attempted two of the other seafood restaurants in that area, and one of them really didn't have any seafood to speakof, which is surprising for somewhere that is advertised as a seafood restaurant, and there was a 30-minute wait at the other. Iam so glad it didn't work out to where we could go to either one of those places. The seafood menu was absolutely superb, andour server, Marielle, was sweet, professional, and prompt. We were very glad that we got to park directly in front of thebuilding, as our dog was in the truck. We sat at a table next to the front window, which was a lot of fun because the huge frontwindow opened, so we had the best of both indoor and outdoor seating. While we were waiting on our food I went out to let ourdog out of the truck. The people at the table next to us immediately encouraged us to bring him inside, as they are regulars andbring their dogs with them all the time. Marielle immediately brought a bowl of water for him, and the super sweet regulars atthe table beside us gave him some chicken and hush puppies. The vibe of the whole place was a lot of fun, and definitely madefor a nice final stop on our way home from spring break. The inside of the restaurant looks like the deck of a pirate ship, andthe bar top is an actual aquarium. We already knew that we were able to order from the menu from The tavern next door, but Iassume that the triple play in the name also refers to the bar on the other side of the restaurant, which is being refurbishedat the moment. Workers were doing some gorgeous wood work in there during our visit, but the construction next door in no wayimpacted our lunch. Our food arrived after a relatively short wait, and we were in heaven. My shrimp and grits were to die for,and my daughter was very happy with her chicken and shrimp. I was very excited to get to have Read more
