Huge shout out to Mario's Pizza! Finally got around to trying it yesterday. There aren't many place to eat in New Bern that are... open on a Sunday, but Mario's is open. My son had a friend over yesterday so I decided to order pizza. I'm too far (in Jonescounty) for delivery so I was expecting to have to eat cold, and just okay, pizza by the time I got it home. Boy was Ipleasantly mistaken! Mario's was delicious and NY style! And it was still warm! So for all those Northerns like me who miss thatNY slice of heaven, give them a try. Great food and good service. Don't know how they pass the food inspection. The condiment bar has jars of red pepper, oregano,... parmesan cheese, etc. One can't see through the glass jars of these condiments due to how sticky they are. Just nasty. Very poorsupervision. Read more
Stopped in today right at 11:00am. Fast service. Restaurant clean and orderly. Sanitation rating 94%. Ordered slice of... pepperoni and a diet Pepsi. Pizza was very good. Crust was perfect! Cost me less than $7.00. Parking was clean but somewhatcrowded. Won't hesitate to eat here again! Read more
Horrible pizza. I ordered a Mario's special through UberEATS and picked up my own pizza. The pizza was poorly made. The crust... was super wet and soggy. The Toppings fell from the pizza when we picked it up. I tried putting it in the oven in order to makethe crust more firm but that did not help I called the store to get them to remake the pizza and I was told to make my complaintthrough UberEATS. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Me and my girlfriend went in and ordered takeout today. We made the mistake of not checking... everything was right but we shouldn?t have to, that?s their responsibility. . Anyway we get home and realize they gave us apizza with everything on it instead of the stromboli we ordered. I call and let them know about the mix up and get told to comeback and bring the pizza with me. While I was on the phone my 2 year old son decides that he wants some of it and starts eatinga slice. I drive 20 minutes back to the store and give the guy the pizza back. He opens it and I can instantly see that he?s nothappy that ONE piece is gone. He takes the pizza to another employee and shows him that one piece is gone. I spoke up and toldhim what happened, my 2 year old grabbed a piece. I can tell by his demeanor that he doesn?t believe me. He tells me that weweren?t supposed to eat any and I tell him what happened again but he doesn?t seem to care. He gave me what we originallyordered and tells me to keep the pizza because ?apparently someone likes it? he also tells me that now I know not to eat anynext time. I don?t understand why an employee would want to make a customer feel disrespected. No one even apologized for theirmistake, he was just disrespectful and insinuated that I was lying. Really great pizza joint here in New Bern. Definitely prefer it over regular pizza chains (like Papa Johns or Dominos) when I... have a bit more spending money. Pizza is always made in a reasonable time, usually ready within a few minutes after I get therewith a call in order. Also give their wings, subs, and pasta dishes a try! Read more
