Was visiting my daughter who lives here and we decided to go here for the first time. Service was good, the place is fairly... clean, but the food is horrendous. People must not have taste buds here in New Bern or they really like canned sauce. The saucelooks like it came out of a Chef Boyardee can and tasted like it too. No tomatoes, no onions, no garlic as it was just puréedorange colored sauce. The chicken Parmesan was so tough and stringy it was not edible. Good luck at this place. Read more

Great place for Italian food! The tortellini was awesome!!! Now I have a tortellini place. The bruschetta was to die for (just... like in Italy). Good place for big parties and the service was good. Left some pics so check it out. Read more

Really great food. Server was asking us if we needed to go boxes before we had even finished our meals. Felt rushed as they... asked twice. New York style seating so be prepared for the people next to you to hear your conversation. Had a pretty good wineselection. Read more

This evening we took a break from our little road trip to have an early dinner in New Bern at La Casetta. At the door, the... hostess informed us that they had only one table available that didn?t have reservations if we could be finished before 7 PM. Wedecided to go for it, and everything came out in a very timely fashion, so it all worked out for everyone. We sat in the backroom, which is actually perfect for us with our autistic daughter. She needs room to move and isn?t always quiet. Our server wasnice and helpful, returning to our table quite often to keep things moving- she was available but not hovering. We decided toskip an appetizer and just ordered our daughter?s angel hair with butter right away. I ordered the Rigatoni Porcini and added ona side salad for $2.50, and opted for the fresh pasta for an extra $3.50. My boyfriend ordered the ?make your own pasta dish? inwhich he chose angel hair, grilled chicken, and marinara sauce. He, too, added on a side salad and the fresh pasta. The serverbrought a basket of freshly baked bread to our table while we waited. In conversation, we learned that the chef individuallyprepared each meal, so we expected a long wait. However, it wasn?t long until my daughter?s pasta and our salads arrived with afresh basket of bread. And just as we were finishing our salads, our pastas arrived. They were beautiful and tasted delicious! We all asked for to-go containers about halfway through, and I was happy to see that they were aluminum and plastic lids, ratherthan styrofoam. The server plated them for us, and we were off! My boyfriend was pleased with the bill as much as he was withthe food- he was surprised that it wasn?t more, with our add-ons and his beer. As we were leaving, I commented that I had foundanother surprise gem! My boyfriend agreed. Read more

From a first generation Italian, skip this place. One star for the bread, one star for the actual pasta. Had it been combine... with proper ingredients it could have been fantastic. However the ?sauce? was the consistency of 2% milk, and tasted like milkmuddled with mushrooms. An absolute waste of $20. I DoorDashed it while sick and I wish I had stuck with something I knew wasconsistent. Read more

What a charming little Italian restaurant. The atmosphere was tranquil. The service was good - seated promptly and a waitress... checked in immediately to get us drinks. I loved the small touches, cloth napkins and fresh bread. The soup was hot and freshlymade. The lettuce in the small salads was crisp and reasonably priced ($2.50). Both marinara and meat sauce was excellent. Sotasty! The spaghetti was perfect- neither too soft or chewy. Stop by, you won't be disappointed. ???? Read more

I had fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, mushrooms, and broccoli. Food was really good... the only thing I would complain about is... the upcharge for broccoli was $2 and I got about 4 stems (no flower part, just the stem) and maybe 2 half pieces. I actuallytook the stems out. Other than that, food was really great. A little pricey for lunch, my meal was $25 (before tip). I did gethomemade pasta so I know there's a charge there. Overall, I would definitely return.. just next time leave the broccoli off! Read more

I really wanted to like this place so bad. The order was taken quickly and the staff was so super nice. I did takeout but had... to go inside to get my order and the inside had amazing ambience. But my pasta hardly had any sauce on it so therefore reallylittle flavor. Not sure if the noodles are homemade but they were pretty good by themselves. May give it another chancebecause like I said the staff was super nice I did takeout again this afternoon!!! I am so glad I did. It was amazing andhonestly so much better than most Italian restaurants I've been too. And I've been to ALOT. I've lived overseas and thisalfredo beats even them! Again, the staff was consistently nice. I'm going to have to get a babysitter and make this a dateplace for me an my husband. Thank you. Read more
