I'm giving this place three stars, reasons being: it's probably how the script is but the hostess asked if we had a reservation... at lunch time! with multiple tables opened, or was she putting us in our place by us wearing t-shirts and jeans, saying we don'tbelong, whatever, don't care. Second, too loud, the music was too high. Third, the food, I'd describe it as being pretentiousbar food with flowery and colorful descriptions that costs way too much. It's a burger with bacon jam, tasted good, but notworth the price. And what's so special about arugala?! It's a leaf. Is spinach not good enough? This place has the texture of a new and trendy eatery, often found in a town 10 times the size. I was quite surprised by this... pleasant dining experience. One that I didn't expect to find in North Carolina's first capital. Cypress Hall proved itsstature as the culinary anchor of New Bern. Do try the clams. Read more
Decided to stop in New Bern while driving down to NC from VA. Made a reservation but after some traffic delays we realized we... would not be on time. Called the restaurant and the hostess, Katy was nice enough to move us to another slot. So glad shedid. We had a great time. Started off with a smoked Old Fashioned and my wife had a martini. Then we had the Pimento Cheesewith Pork Rinds to start. For dinner, I had the Cider Braised Pork Cheeks over grits and collards. My wife had the Hot ChickenSandwich with collards. We really enjoyed our visit at Cyprus Hall. Great food, service and venue. Well worth the stop and wewill be back. Read more
Writing this review as we order dessert which I know it’s gonna be amazing. We are a table of 8 and got a variety of dishes... and all of them were outstanding. Cocktails were also delicious and service has been incredible. This has been a beautifulsurprise! If you can order the paella I 100% recommend. 10/10 Read more
