The dining room and bar area are nice and service was decent. Ordered the mussels appetizer and it was so spicy it masked the... actual flavor of the mussels and my husband and I like and can handle spicy heat just fine. It stated Coconut Curry in sauce onmenu so we expected a little heat, however it was too spicy for the delicacy of mussels. I ordered the crab tagliatelle whichwas fine, and my husband ordered the salmon, which again was way too spicy for seafood. When a sauce is so spicy it over powersthe actual flavor of the protein it isn’t worth it. The server also stated they prepare salmon to a temp of medium yet thesalmon was over cooked and a little tough due to the over cooking. Overall the dinner was not worth the price as we could havegotten similar quality dishes at a less expensive establishment. Will most likely not go back. Read more
Food is a bit pricey but you know that going in. I chose the sirloin, med rare and it was cooked perfectly and had a wonderful... taste/texture. Sides for most of the steaks are separate but are enough to share between a couple of people. We werecelebrating a birthday and they allowed us to bring in a cake with us. Allow time to secure parking in downtown New Albany.You're competing with several restaurants and construction. While I did see people bring in very young children, this reallyisn't the best place for them. Read more

We will definitely be returning! We went to Brooklyn and the Butcher for my husband's b-day & they had some of the electable... items to try. My husband and I shared their special porterhouse and the octopus was cooked perfectly. Paired with a French wineand I'm hooked! Read more
Honestly, I would prefer this place over Ruth Chris or any other fancy steakhouse. Food is pricey, but me and my wife enjoy it... for the taste, quality, and service. I have never once had a complaint about them. We always try to interact with ourwaiter/waitress and they have been nothing but great. I just love this atmosphere. My wife enjoys their baseball cut and I enjoythere porterhouse steak. The steak is amazing, I mean just even thinking about it got my mouth watering. The meat so savory andtender, you can tell they prepare really well. Also the wine selection is solid and their bartender is amazing they make thebest cocktail. I really recommend you all go if you haven’t gone before. Just some of y’all, Lol, I would hate for it to bepack and me not able to eat there as often as I do. Read more
After eating at their sister restaurant (Exchange Pub+Kitchen) twice this weekend, we couldn't wait to try Brooklyn and The... Butcher. It turned out that our opportunity to do so was for Sunday brunch today (6/26/2022). We made reservations for 10:00(their opening time) and found ourselves the center of attention for a half hour until the next party arrived. Louisville,what's wrong with you? This place is terrific, and you're sleeping it away! We met Hannah, the General Manager, at the desk,and then were cheerfully handed off to Bryson, who took wonderful care of us until we left. My spouse had The Butcher's Plate,which came with a nice assortment of eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, and fingerling potatoes. I ordered off the side menu, and gottwo slices of beautiful brioche French Toast, the Kentucky sausage, and two eggs over easy. Bryson kept the coffee and watercoming, checked in on us regularly, and made us very happy indeed. He mentioned that there was a jazz vocalist and keyboardplayer on the patio (see attached photo), so once we finished our leisurely breakfast, we wandered out there to enjoy CarlyJohnson and her associate making their way through jazz and bossanova while we sat and admired. As is also the case with ourservers at Exchange Pub+Kitchen, the attentiveness and anticipation displayed by Bryson was exemplary. Great sense of humor,very helpful with menu items, conveyed a bit of the history of the building, all in all a great experience. To boot,surprisingly for such a terrific breakfast experience, our bill came to a fairly modest sum, appreciably less than we would havepaid for a mediocre breakfast at The Galt House, where we attended a conference. My first time in. My Mom and I were celebrating my brother’s 21st birthday. Let me add I live with a chef and manage a... restaurant. I really didn’t have super high expectations, but let me tell you, this place knocked it out of the park! Ourserver, Amanda was super knowledgeable and went out of her way to make our dining experience memorable. The chef board wasincredible! My drink, stir crazy, was smoked at the table! It smelled like a camp fire and was quite possibly the best drinkI’ve ever had! My wedge salad was also incredible!
