Let me begin by saying I love Second Cup and frequent them many times per week. This particular location however is horrible... and it?s 100% related to the owner Marve: I have been going to this location for years but recently the new owner has madegoing there a terrible experience. Two issues occurred here that spurred me to write this review. The first incident happenedon a Sunday in October 2022. I placed a mobile order and when I went to pick it up it didn?t have enough milk. So I simplyasked if I could have a little bit of milk on the side and the owner literally yelled at me for placing a mobile order insteadof ordering at the counter. I let that one pass because it was a very busy day and he was all alone. Today I ordered a mediumParadiso Dark. I order this coffee regularly at Second Cup and it?s my favourite but this particular batch was way too strongindicating the water to ground ratio was off. I couldn?t drink it. I went back to the counter to exchange it for a differentone and he gave me such a hard time and argued that he had made it the right way even though the only thing I said was it wastoo strong and I couldn?t drink it. I wasn?t asking for my money back, I was just asking for a pour of a different coffee type. In the end because he kept arguing and berating me I said, if it?s simpler I?ll just get a refund. He opened the till andtossed the money at me. I told him that this was pretty bad customer service and he wrote his name on a piece of paper and toldme I could call Second Cup Head Office and complain but that there was nothing they could do because it was his store. Who doesthat? Who acts in that manner when a customer simply wants to exchange their coffee because there was a quality issue? I spend$50-$70/month at Second Cup but I will never return to this location ever again. The previous owners were amazing but this guyis the absolute worst. I keep giving this location more chances and they can't seem to get anything right. I've been at least 5 times now and the... service and coffee is never good. Either way too sweet, not the right order or tastes like chemicals. The service is lacking tosay the least and the employees seem barely trained. I would not recommend this location at all. Read more
I love this place.. I always take mocha from here and it tastes great. They have great seating, both indoor and outdoor. They... also have lots of Pastries. I tried the butter croissant and almond croissant. The Almond croissant is really sweet with somefilling inside. But both were good. This place is usually busy? so expect some wait time love 10-15 mins. I feel bad for thelady who works here. Last day when I was here, it was only her who is taking order, making coffee, giving pastries and alsogiving mobile orders. The owner should probably employee 2-3 staffs for the rush they have here.. even with all this, the staffwas really fast and nice. Five stars for the staff. Great job!!! This place is awesome! The temperature is always perfect inside, and the selection of drinks and snacks is plentiful. The... ambiance is incredibly relaxing and helps me calm down before heading to work. The gentleman who's served me each time is anabsolute pleasure to deal with, and helps me start my mornings off right. I highly recommend this place. I love Second Cup and this is a great location. The man working here is also so smiley and nice. Orders always come in... promptly. The atmosphere here is fantastic, really great for studying or chatting. Even the smoothy blender is super silent soit doesn't ruin the atmosphere. Best London Fogs I've ever had. Many of the leather chairs are ripped and look ready to bereplaced. I hope this place isn't struggling financially because it's such a great cafe, much better than Starbucks imo.Sometimes sandwiches aren't fully reheated. Read more
