General Tao's was soggy and soft with a red sauce not crispy with the classic dark sauce....highly dissapointing for the cost.... Egg rolls were not in house but tasted like a mass produced variety as was the plum sauce....also very dissapointing. Almond GuyDing was very good as were the Honey Garlic ribs. Great food. General Tso chicken is great - perfect amount of batter, nice and crispy, good spice. Spring rolls are huge! Have... had their Cantonese Chow mein, and Singapore noodles- both good, with generous amounts of meat. Ginger beef is alright - gingerflavor is minimal. Chicken balls are nice and crispy, fluffy on the inside. Pad Thai flavour could be a bit more robust butstill a good meal. Overall - really enjoyable food. Read more
Very happy with the food Great portions. Do not skimp like other Chinese takeout. Lots of chicken in the S&S Chicken balls and... chicken chop suey. Egg rolls were very good. Fried rice was great. Will be back. Read more
Absolutely good AND fresh! Best I've had in a long time! Ok...they don't jump up and down with excitement when they take your... money but it's definitely an even trade...... I have ordered from China Star many times. The food is fantastic. My problem with trying to star is that almost every order we... place something gets mixed up. They either forget to give you a dish completely, or they give you the wrong dish. Every time Igo there now I have to go to my car open the bags check the order and then go back to have my order corrected. Considering thisis their livelihood and their business, you would think that it would be important to them to get orders correct each and everytime. This doesn't seem to be the case here. Read more
I love China Star. Great portion sizes, delicious food, fast service, great prices, and an all around great place for Chinese... food. I recommend the fried chicken wings and the beef and broccoli as those are my favourites. My parents love the friedchicken wings as well, definitely some of the best in town. As for the beef and broccoli, the beef is tender and cooked toperfection, pairing it with broccoli makes it a great combo. I would definitely come here again. Read more
This was our first time ordering from this place. Overall, food was great for the price, and food was ready when they said it... would be ready. My favourite was the fried beef with Chinese greens. Beef was tender and beggies were fresh. Next is the housespecial with mixed veggies. Again, veggies were fresh and great flavour. The Kung Pao chicken could be spicier. I am not sure ifwe can request to make it spicier but it would have been much better if it was (might just be my preference). We are not a fanof the hot and sour soup. Very different than what we are used to. We found it salty and almost has a burnt taste. We also gotthe egg rolls and those were great! Thin, crispy shell and full, meaty filling! Tried for first time tonight on recommendion of two friends. I now highly recommend. The veg in the dishes were fresh and... perfectly stir fried, not soggy at all. Flavours were subtle and tasty. The portions were huge. The service was outstanding andaccommodating. Spring rolls were big but just OK. Thanks for a great meal! We ordered: garlic spare ribs, veg chow mein and kungpau chicken.
