It was a 90 degree weather day which obviously calls for an ice cream stop after walking around Georgetown and shopping. Thomas... Sweet is a classic that I've heard so many good things about, and finally got to try it out. Since it was so hot, of coursethere was a line outside their building. There's both outdoor and indoor seating available, but luckily we were able to grab aninside table to escape the heat. Cash is preferred but credit and debit cards are taken for a $7 minimum purchase. There are somany flavors to choose from, and even frozen yogurt and vegan options as well. After choosing your flavor, you can decidebetween plain ice cream, sundaes, or milkshakes. There are also various cone options and toppings that can be added to trulyhave the most customizable experience. If you aren't interested in their ice cream they sell fresh homemade fudge as well. Iwent with chocolate chip cookie dough and mint chocolate chip in a cup. Even inside the store, the ice cream was melting quicklyso I didn't want to deal with the mess of having a cone. Both flavors I got were delicious, but the cookie dough really stoodout to me. The dough pieces were amazing and the vanilla ice cream was great. This is a great ice cream spot and willdefinitely be a new stop for our ice cream cravings next time we're in Georgetown! Read more

Awesome little neighborhood ice cream shop with fantastic selection of flavors. I particularly love their black raspberry ice... cream, and their limeade is excellent on a hot summer day. Service is prompt and friendly, and while a little pricey, it'stotally worth it. Also, open relatively late for an ice cream shop, which is nice on a summer night. I have not tried theconfections but I've heard they are also good. Read more

There is always a line especially when the weather is warm. Thomas has a lot of unique ice cream flavors. My personal favorite... is their Coffee Oreo. They also have chocolate, milkshakes, and froyo. Read more
Must visit ice cream place in Georgetown, D.C. We took vanila ice cream with hot fudge. It was very authentic. Their hand made... chocolate fudge (hard fudge) is also popular. Expect long queue in late evenings. Ice cream quantity can be easily sharedbetween two if you can. Parking- few free road side parking towards store for customers. Few other road side paid parking for2-3 hrs in $2 are also available on opposite road. This place is also visited by Obama and Biden. Popular among local studentsin the area. Read more
