Came to the Sovereign for brunch on a Sunday. We had made reservations and were glad we did as the place filled up pretty... quickly after opening. We started with the bitterballen- which were very savory with a unique meaty filling- delicious. We alsohad the pickled vegetable plate and a mixed green salad, both were very good, though the pickled vegetable plate was prettysparse. For the main course, we had the Belgian Mussels and the Mariniere Mussels. The mussels were plump and delicious but thebroth was just OK. This may be the first time we had mussels when we didn't finish the broth with the bread. My only complaintwas that there were only three types of mussels and the two we had were just OK. Next time we would probably only get onemussels and split another main. The fries that came with the mussels were perfect! The beer list was excellent- lots of uniquebeers to try. Wine and drink list was also very good. The service was excellent and the restaurant, including bathrooms, wereclean and well maintained. Read more

I liked the atmosphere and vibe. Really cozy place to go on a date. The food is fine in general. The chocolate mouse desert and... Belgium meat ball is amazing. The short rib is good however in our case the fat part of the meat was almost quarter of the meatwhich is a lot! Usually the fat for the meat is to make it juicier and more delicious but you don’t want to pay for a meatthat you cannot eat 25% of it. Overall was an ok restaurant to try once. Read more

Tucked into an alleyway. The beer selection was exquisite, tasted delicious, and the server was very friendly. Great Belgian... beer selection. They clearly put a lot of effort into creating their list and it’s highly appreciated. The decor was verycreative as well Read more

Back the alley to quite the beer and food gem. With soooo many unique drafts and bottles any craft beer lover needs to stop... here. Louis was super knowledgeable about the beer and it was great to learn more. The food was great (looks like a preciousMichelin star?)- had the mussels with fries. They have an upstairs area and downstairs so depending the mood that you arelooking for, this place can assist. Highly recommend. Read more

This restaurant has a really cool speakeasy vibe! The drink menu was also very impressive. It's been a really long time since... I've been to a restaurant and seen beers that look really creative and new. This place serves a step above just craft brewing. The appetizers were also quite good! Read more

Had some time to kill before a brunch reservation this last weekend so we stopped by The Sovereign to get a couple of drinks.... The bartender was very friendly and the cocktails were excellent. The basement bar area is beautiful and had a great atmosphere. We liked it so much that we decided to come back at night to check it out then. In the evening we sat upstairs and had a varietyof great Belgian beers and some great food. All the drinks were reasonably priced as was the food, definitely a great spot worthchecking out. Great ambiance. Wouldn't have known about it if my son had not taken us there... it's tucked away down a cute little alleyway in... Georgetown. We had our first taste absinthe here which was an interesting and unique experience. We had already eaten elsewherebefore he took us there so we only ordered drinks.. and an order of fries which were some of the best around. Would love to goagain sometime soon. Read more

An awesome hole-in-the-wall, but upscale bar with both a modern and old vibe to it. There are some very good beer options here,... as well as Belgian beers of course, and the food was very tasty. Read more
