So good!! Def get the Bajia potatoes as a starter and the mango cheesecake for dessert. Drinks were delicious and well made -... 20% off for happy hour. We tried the salmon and the beef cubes and they were very flavorful. Good service and prices. Highlyrecommend! Read more

We visited for our anniversary and the food was AMAZING! I was a little worried because the menu descriptions are scant and the... prices are premium but I cleaned my plate happily. The flavors, including the pepper sauce they brought to the table, werefamiliar as Black people but also unique and refreshing. The meat was TENDER. I got the stewed beef with fufu and kachumbari. Mywife got the stewed goat with jollof rice and cabbage. We also got a side of plantains. The portions were very good. My onlycomplaints were that I ordered a drink early in the meal but it didn't arrive until we were just about to leave. In fact, weonly stayed longer to try to finish it. Also, probably more annoying was the flashing lights that blinded us every 90 seconds orso because of where our table was situated. They weren't on when we first sat down but it did make finishing the mealinconvenient. I'd still absolutely come back but probably for a special occasion due to the prices and the fact we have tofight through DC traffic to get there. I would definitely recommend checking them out. Not gonna lie, the food here is cool and definitely an acquired taste. But the atmosphere, music/vibes, cool a ** bartenders and... that fabulous ' Flaming margarita' is really what keeps me coming back for more!! Dave & Jessica are dope bartenders and alwayswelcome us with huge smiles and provide great service. If I'm in DC, I'm definitely at Swahili Village as part of my weekendturn up ???????? $$ Read more

An utterly delightful experience with warm service and flavorful, unique food. The prices might seem a bit high, but you get... what you pay for and the serving sizes are good sized. There’s also a lot of good variety and specialty foods, and you cantell that the ingredients are fresh. You probably can’t go wrong of what you order here. Though I didn’t ask aboutallergens, I’ve no doubt the servers would answer any questions you have. Read more

This place was excellent and authentic. Every dish was delicious, the staff could not have been nicer, and the presentation was... superb. Everything we ate, from the beef stew to the Ugali, was rich in flavor and felt as if I were eating at a restaurant inheart of Africa. Highly recommended for anyone looking for really good and genuine African cuisine. Read more
