My girlfriends and I did afternoon tea at Opaline. We have been to quite a few teas in the DC area and this was by far our... favorite! The service was impeccable and we were able to get multiple teas as opposed to sticking to just one each. We willdefinitely be going there again! Read more

Last night was my first visit to Opaline. The bartenders were incredible - every one of them was attentive and their service and... friendliness made us feel welcome, even when the bar got busier. We had a great conversation with Hiyaw, the bartender fromEthiopia, who speaks better English than most US citizens! My husband travels to DC often and raved about this place. I can seewhy. The drinks and snack food we had were all great and the atmosphere was just right. This is more than a typical hotel bar -check it out for yourself! Read more

The place was really nice. They had good food and great service. They were attentive and answered any questions I had about the... menu and drinks. They had folks that were knowledgeable of the menu, the drinks, and what pairs nicely between foods anddrinks. A very nice date night as well as relaxing atmosphere overall Read more

Met a couple for dinner. We started with cocktails, switched to wine. Had salads, then entrées. Service was ok, but a bit... disorganized. Salads (butter leaf and beet) were fresh and tasty, with just the right amount of dressing. Read more

Stayed at the hotel for work and decided to grab a quick dinner after a long day of training. The server told my friend and I to... grab a table in the corner, we sat for 15+ minutes and no one came over to us to bring a menu or greet us. We were in the directpath to the kitchen, so figured we would move to the bar for faster service. There were 2 others at the bar besides us, we weregreeted quickly by the bartender and he said he would grab us waters. We waited another 15 minutes before he came back with thewaters and we decided to place our order. We ordered steak and drinks, we then proceeded to see two other individuals sit at thebar and a couple sit at the table we had just came from. All of these individuals received their drinks and food within 15minutes. We waited over an hour for our steak, which came out cold and not as described. From presentation only, not worth $49,not to mention the taste or quality. The steak was tough, chewy, and had what appeared to be a canned gravy on it. The steaklooked like it came from a hungry man frozen dinner. The bartender asked how it was, we told him it was not good, he took mysteak away without prompting further and tried to also take my friend's who instructed him not to. We spent almost 2 hoursthere, and we were very disappointed. He did comp my steak and my friend's drink but wishing we would have been asked for analternative meal because we both were very hungry after a long day. I would recommend for the price and service, to goelsewhere. Read more
