My wife and I went here per a friend's recommendation. Let me tell you, the food here is absolutely amazing! Deserving of more... than 5 stars if possible. I had the turkey wings w/cabbage and mac and cheese. My wife had fried fish with collard greens andmac and cheese (we both also had the corn bread). When I tell you EVERYTHING was good! It was amazingly good! You have to trythis place if you haven't been here. It is pricy (we paid over $60 for the both of us, but again, well worth it). Just walking in the door the staff was very attentive and welcoming. There was no wait to be seated, no wait to be served and... the food came out promptly. The owner and manager greeted us to see how we were enjoying our visit. Now for the food, it waswonderful, tasty and filling. No additional seasoning needed. My Experience was 6.5 out of 10 the best part was the mac and cheese. The yams taste like seasoned pie filling. The chicken... wings were dry and taste like they were old. The chicken for the chicken&waffles was nothing but skin. For the money definitelynot worth it. Read more
My husband and I spent this past weekend in Washington DC and enjoyed brunch at Oohh?s & Aahh?s Soul Food restaurant on Georgia... Ave. The food was delicious. Everything was nicely seasoned, the fried catfish, collard green, cornbread, mac-n-cheese and thecatfish and grits plate, were all cooked to our liking. And if you have room for dessert, try the banana pudding?delish. Weshared our meals in a comfortable atmosphere, all of the employees were very pleasant. Thanks to the GM, Mark, who took the timeto sit with us (at our request) to have a conversation about the restaurant. Most thankful to our waiter, Mike, who wasattentive to our desires. I don?t typically leave reviews, but after my experience at this restaurant, I felt like I had to ! I?ve been to this restaurant... 3 times in the last week & have received incredible service each time. I?m not from DC, and every other restaurant I?ve been tosince I?ve been here has been very slack on service but not this one . Mark was very friendly and helped me choose the best menuitem . He even gave me suggestions to places I should visit while I?m here . The service was on point and I?m so glad I decidedto come here! The excellent food was only matched by the excellent service! Our waiter Mike was on top of our every need and the management... were extremely welcoming and inviting?. It was a pleasant soul food experience in the heart the city?. My wife and I both hadthe fried chicken which was seasoned to perfection while my sister-in-law had the fried catfished which was golden!
