Reviews for Martin's Tavern in 1264 Wisconsin Ave NW, WA
An incredibly cool and historic restaurant! There’s so many awesome stories and pieces of history here but one of the most... notable is probably the proposal booth where JFK proposed to Jackie! We sat in the Nixon booth and had an amazing experience. There was a long wait but you can walk around Georgetown and shop so we didn’t mind at all. We had the French Onion Soup,Martin’s House Salad and the Chicken Milanese and all were delicious. It’s a busy place but it didn’t take long for ourfood to arrive. I’m definitely looking forward to going back. Read more
This tavern boasts some impressive American history and a good menu. At each table there is a card with information about what... booth U.S. presidents liked to sit at and the historical context at the time. The decor is so charming and immersive! I had thecorned beef hash and it was incredible. Great destination spot in Georgetown. Read more
The historical value alone makes a trip to Martin's worth it. Adding in top-notch customer service, handcrafted cocktails, and a... perfectly cooked filet, completed my wonderful experience. It's no wonder this restaurant has been enjoyed by countlesspresidents over the years, and JFK even proposed to Jackie here. Read more

We had a proper breakfast here: challah French toast with sausage, bacon, home fries and hot chocolate. Everything was good.
Delicious turkey dinner with sweet potato purée and green beans. Fair salad and French onion soup. Good service. Decent prices... for the portion size. And a very nice, classic atmosphere with interesting history. Does not feel stodgy. Read more
Great food, but even better service. Every staff member we encountered treated us like an honored guest in their home. The... atmosphere was warm and friendly and not even a little stuffy. There is a reason this place has been open almost 90 years andthat so many people (Average Joes and Power Brokers alike) make Martin's "their spot," and it certainly is mine now anytime Ihave a reason to be in DC!
