Awesome classy ambiance, breads and drinks. Paneer entree was average but the creative parantha was a killer, good experience... overall deserving an overall 4. Food: 3/5 The best parantha I’ve had - fluffy deconstructed take on lachcha parantha. Dragonscoast was really good - well blended drink with fruity spicy and lemony notes. The wok tossed paneer was not impressive -definitely not per indian kadhai paneer standards. Ambiance: 5/5 Really fancy and upscale ambiance! Very pristine andhygienic. Service: 5/5 Very professional and friendly servers. Sustainable: 5/5 All reusable items used. Read more

Had an amazing engagement dinner at Karma. We booked a private room since we were a group of 20+ people. Our menu was... pre-selected and I really think everything we had was delicious. Some of the best Indian fusion food I've had! For appetizerswe got tandoori cauliflower, paneer pesto, lamb kabobs, chicken tikka, and amritsari snappers. All amazing, but the chickentikka really stood out. For entrees we had the lobster masala, chicken chettinad, lamb rogan Josh, zucchini kofta, and heirloompaneer. Lobster masala was the highlight of my meal. So delicious and flavorful, and the presentation was gorgeous! For sides wegot pindi chickpeas, grilled okra, garlic and plain naan, and latcha paratha. For dessert we had pistachio kulfi, coconutmedallions, and carrot halwa. Amazing food aside, our service was great and everyone was so helpful. With a large party we hadsomeone attending to us at all times and made sure everything was coming on time. For private events, Karma Modern Indian is agreat place to go to, and I will continue to recommend them in the future! Read more

Juan was an excellent bartender and the gentleman working the front door, who I assume was the manager, was also very helpful in... making sure I enjoyed my meal. I live in New Mexico, where good Indian food is difficult to find, so I thought I would enjoysomething during my vacation that I couldn't at home. Conveniently located near my hotel, this was a great choice. The food wasdelicious and bursting with flavor, and the wine list and service were impressive. I spoke to a local at the bar who claimedthis was the best Indian food in DC, and I agree with her. Read more

Amazing food! Amazing ambiance / great time with friends. I am only removing 1 star because the service was extremely slow,... foods took over 30 minutes to arrive at the table and that was the only downside. When the food was On our table - we enjoyedevery single dish & cocktail. Would definitely go back here again despite slow service (which I’m sure is a temporaryglitch) Would recommend this restaurant while in DC! Read more

The food was really good with a lot of vegetarian options! The dishes were very flavorful and a favorite would be the pistachio... kulfi. Yet, I would not recommend the turnip dish as it was lacking in flavor. I would recommend the drinks though as they wereunique and yum! Read more

Went on a Sunday for dinner. Most of the dishes were good, if not very good (lamb and chicken). The duck was extremely... overcooked, but its saffron sauce was nice and I’m sure the dish is good when cooked properly. The main issue we had wastiming/service. Our appetizers came out after 40 minutes, and our mains took another 40 minutes after that to arrive. The placewas not packed, and there were only 3 of us ordering a normal amount of food. Not only was this frustrating, but the staffdidn’t handle it well. At one point a gentleman came over, without introducing himself, and seemed to try and make excusesabout why we were having these issues, such as “well your entrees were fired at that time, so they came out at this time”.There wasn’t even an apology, he just kind of walked away after we expressed our disappointment. Eventually they did bring uscomplementary sparkling wine, but this also missed the mark as one in our group doesn’t drink and another still had a fullglass of wine. Would have been nice if they instead simply asked how they could make it up, such as complementarydessert. Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s worth it for us to ever go back. Read more

The food, the service to the decor and vibe screamed "Michelin Star". This was our second time there. Today, we ordered the... Pre-Fix lunch special in which we were served a three course meal-- appetizer, main course, and dessert. The Chicken Tikka wasincredibly juicy and succulent, and the spicy green dipping sauce gave it the spicy kick it needed to push it over the top fromsimply great to FANTASTIC. This was only our first course... We then ordered the Butter Chicken and the Palak Paneer for ourmain course. We supplemented our main meal with a side of Chickpeas, a warm Whole Wheat Roti and a buttery crisp LaathaParatha. Every item served in our second course was perfect, and the combined portions served was food that the two of us couldfinish in one sitting. To close out our visit, we ordered caramond ice cream and a Carrot Hafka for dessert, our final course, which was small but satisfying. Overall, I give Karma a perfect score. If I could give it a sixth star ???? I would. Irecommend this restaurant for any and all occasions. The food and service is consistently tasty. Read more
