I love this place. If you'd have told me right before the pandemic that one of the best haute cuisine restaurants in DC (Komi)... would soon change its menu to pizza, gyros, and fries and I'd love it, I'd have said you were crazy. But here we are. They alsosell their own ice cream, and it's delicious. Expensive, but so good nothing else compares. Happy Gyro's menu is short andchanges frequently, based on what's available. The veggie gyro is fantastic but they haven't had that for a couple months. Thespicy veggie tacos come in those old fashioned hard tortillas, and are delicious - but pretty spicy. Grandma and grandpa pizzasquares taste as good as you'll find in NYC. They still offer the extensive wine and drink selection as they did when they wereKomi. The chef and staff are all from Komi too, and provide very good service to match fine dining or street food. Now that thepandemic is supposedly over, I don't know if they'll go back to fancy dining. Right now, everything is mostly carryout and theinside dining is closed. But I like both Komi and Happy Gyro, and the latter is much less expensive. Read more

First time checking this place out and it will definitely be one of my top choices when I am in town. Tried multiple different... items and they were all excellent. I love that the Vodka sauce is actually spicy and not a sugar bomb. The staff is superfriendly and do not sleep on the ice cream. Even 30 min after I picked it up everything was great. Read more

We were so excited to try their Black walnut tacos and Grandpa slice. I enjoyed the taco filling, had good flavor, however the... pizza slice was much saltier and wasn?t all that great. Read more

Just had my first Komi experience and it was hands down the best meal I?ve had in my life. My boyfriend and I are making our way... through the DC Michelin Star places and decided to try Komi for a belated Valentines dinner. Komi has been the best thus farwith zero competition from the others. There?s just no comparison, and the fact that it was almost half the cost of Pineapple &Pearls made it that much better. I have to comment on how amazing the staff is first. Kyle was attentive, hilarious, andknowledgeable. I didn?t catch the name of the woman helping us but she had short brown hair and was just wonderful. The first4-5 courses are small but so delightfully balanced and flavorful with simple and fresh ingredients. The figs were to die for andso were the scallops. The pasta we were told is handmade every day and was the best I?ve ever had. Everything was perfectlyseasoned and it was timed incredibly well. My partner and I don?t drink but they brought us a non alcoholic drink to try thatwas just incredible. Everything they brought was better than the last. The desserts at the end were just a perfect finish to themost incredible meal. Can?t wait to go back. Read more

As expected with a Michelin star restaurant, the dining experience was superb. We were able to get a last minute reservation for... a random weekday based on their availability online. They promptly followed up via email and made sure to consider any foodallergies or preferences we had. They also verified our preferences when we sat down just to be sure. The small dining area madefor an intimate dining experience and everything was exceptionally cooked. The dishes were inventive and perfectly cooked to thepoint that I wished I could have more. We unfortunately did not do the wine pairing but, even without it, we were at Komi forabout 3 hours. The service was very professional as expected. There's limited street parking but a garage just around the cornerthat was a convenient walk. Overall, I'd definitely consider going back but really only for a special occasion given the $150per person bill not including wine pairing. The only negative of the night was the $16 glass of Riesling. Read more

An incredible intimate dinning experience with some of the most passionate and animated descriptions of wine I've ever heard. So... make sure you get the matching wines! Delicious adaptions of Mediterranean flavors with excellent (and friendly) service thatmakes Komi an unforgettable experience. Read more
