As a neighborhood local and german beer fan I was excited to come here, but will not be returning.I came on a weekday for lunch,... ordered a pretzel , a maibock and a chicken sandwich with a side soup. A server was training another and they both took myorder. 20 minutes go by and I still don’t have anything on the table. I ask a server about the beer, and one is brought out. It’s the wrong beer. I ask to verify , and was told they ran out so they gave me a similar beer, one I would not have ordered.20 more minutes go by and I have to flag the server down to ask about the pretzel appetizer. I sat for another 20-30 minutes ,now having been there about an hour and fifteen minutes total before I have to this time get up and go inside to where themanager is sitting ironically eating a sandwich, to ask once where the sandwich was Id ordered an hour ago and that i’d haveto take it to go at this point. A server then a minute later brings out the sandwich and soup on/in glassware. The icing on thecake was getting to see the $16 sandwich and excuse of a “soup” which you can see pics of. Failure from start to finish. Read more

Beautiful place and great food! I had chicken with spätzle and mushroom sauce. The spätzle was even better than the one I ate... in Germany. Also, the waiter was very patient while my parents (who don't speak English) we're deciding what to order. I totallyrecommend this place. Read more

We were looking for a good chicken schnitzel in Washington DC and so glad you found (probably) the best one. We started with a... refreshing salad (Spargelsalat... arugula, purple, green, and white asparagus, cherry tomato, parmesan; lemon, ramp-mustardvinaigrette) and then took the chicken schnitzel with white asparagus, new potatoes, hollandaise-and I couldn’t stop smiling .It was delicious. They also have veal and pork schnitzel but I prefer the chicken. For dessert we had the chocolate cake whichwas just ok (nothing special) and the asparagus ice cream, pretzel crust, strawberry, mint, Grand Mariner which was insanelygood. Can’t wait to go back . I need more Read more

Authentic German restaurant. Our server, Hana, was very friendly, attentive and provided detailed information to our questions.... We really enjoyed the Kabeljau and Jägerschnitzel, which were delicious and made us want to travel back to Germany. We alsoliked the half-order of Wurstfeast, which came with my wife's favorite potato dumplings. The Apfelstrudel mit Vanilla Eis ishighly recommended, with a delicious, strong cinnamon flavor.
