A small group of friends and I googled for a nice place to eat near a summit we attended in Washington DC. We agreed on Mexican... food at Anafra because it was highly rated with nice mouth- watering pictures. We walked in to cool and attentive staff thatseated us immediately. I like the fact that the pictures with food items matched exactly. They took special care of my frienddue her food allergies. This restaurant has authentic Central American, Latino American servers and chefs. They humored byletting make my order in Spanish and my friends raved about their enchiladas. Best place for Mexican sea food in DC so far. Besides the vibrant ambiance and the drinks and tacos, a noteworthy mention has to... be made for the ceviche and aguachile. The ceviche is a dish shared with other cultures, but the aguachile - which is more raw,juicier, and spicier than a ceviche - is endemic to Mexican culture and Anafre comes as close as can be to nailing it. This was hands down the best place I ate while visiting. The submarino was absolutely sublime, the calamari was great, and the... drinks were masterfully crafted. The staff was all very friendly and exceptionally quick. I cannot recommend this place enough. Read more

10 out of 10. Best Mexican pizza EVER!!! Avocado. Chorizo. Shrimp.???? Seafood. Any day!!! Definitely recommend???? Their nachos... are also extremely delicious, & their drinks menu and Mezcal options are also very impressive. If you are a pizza lover, trytheir Golfo (Seafood) Pizza????. You won’t find anything that comes close to it. Taste amazing (has a little spicy kick toit), price is extremely generous for the quality of the ingredients. This was my first time going to this restaurant and it will definitely be the first of many visits. The food was great. The menu... is small so you spend too much time with too many choices. We ordered the Guacamole del Mar for an appetizer. The del Mar is agenerous portion of Guacamole with lobster and crab meat piled on top. This was a sign of great things to come. Next we ordereda Shrimp Gobernador and Salmon à la Diabla taco. Don't leave without having a taco! That's all I am going to say about that. Myentree was the Whole Trout Veracruzana. On the menu it's snapper but they couldn't get snapper due to the current worldsituation. The trout was a good replacement. To me trout is a delicate fish. The trout was prepared with that in mind. It waslight on the palate but big with flavor. At the end of that meal my only question is "Is Anafre a seafood restaurant or a Latinrestaurant"? You tell me...the debate continues! Read more
Wow, what an amazing meal. I absolutely loved Anafre. Every flavor was intense and delicious. The seafood nachos were very... tasty, the 12 pork shank was to die for, and the tacos were also top notch. Mezcalero has long been a favorite of mine, butAnafre might have topped it. Out of town visiting DC area. Got recommended this restaurant on google BY FAR BEST Mexican food I have Tasted in a LONG time !... Hits so many taste buds and the flavors to the food is amazing, well complimented plates over all. Server was super nice andattentive. Ordered the “shrimp alambre.” and as entree ordered the “Nachos al carbon.” All an all 10/10 check thisplace out !! Read more
