I just had a wonderful experience at Abunai. I started with a lobster hand roll. Yummy! The hand roll was crafted nicely with... the lobster-to-other-ingredient ratio just right. The contents were distributed evenly. Next, I had the kalua pig & cabbageplate. Good portion for the price. The dish was flavorful and had a wonderful series of layered flavors. There was just enoughfat content in the pork for the perfect mouth feel; it did not slip into greasiness. My one complaint was that it was slightlytoo salty, but not bad. I chose the furikake Mac salad and smoked salmon namasu for my sides. The Mac salad was bland and not mykind of thing, but I can see that it may be appealing to others. Have come here twice in the last week and order the custom bowl with Ahi Tuna. Ingredients are all fresh, the small bowl is... filling for me although protein quantities per scoop can be increased & they don?t charge extra for avocado. Will come back whencraving Poke! Miso soup is also good and big. Read more
This will probably now be my go-to lunch place in the area whenever I?m feeling poke or something similar. There?s plenty of... variety of food choices, even the tofu was tasty, the serving sizes are solid and the price is fair for the area and food. Theservice was kind too. I only wish that they had allergen warnings for the sauces for gluten. Read more
Good reviews and I had expectations. Ordered an ahi and Shrimp poke bowl with some sweet onion and sushi rice. I got salmon,... shrimp, rice. The server dropped his wipe cloth on the floor. Picked it up. Wiped his serving utensils with it and proceededto get my bowl ingredients. Not trained and not a clean place to eat. Read more
Their lunch platter is very filling. I got the kalua pork which is so flavorful and comes with rice as well as two other sides,... which I chose the furikake mac salad and the lomi tomatoes and onions. I also got their abunai hand roll which is a fairlydecent snack size as well. Lots of seating inside and some outside as well. Read more
Overpriced. Here?s the lobster roll that fell apart revealing 4 pieces of lobster for their $8 ?special? lobster roll. I was... told the Abunai bowl was ?modern?, but was similarly disappointed with the amount of fish and overall taste. I?m all forimproving a dish but a regular poke bowl is 10x better than this modern version. Avoid. Read more
Got the lunch plate and was just ok. The chicken was super salty and the mac salad was way too much mayonnaise. Maybe the... bowls a better option? Friendly service. Read more
