Do not get the oysters. They are preshucked refrigerated and put on a washed oyster shell. I would have loved to try the baked... oysters however the oyster oven was broken. Read more

Where do I start? I have been visiting Natchitoches for the last 10 days. I have eaten out 2 meals a day. Tonight I ate at... Papa's. It was a disappointing dining experience. It has been the worse restaurant I have visited in this town. I am not apicky eater but this was terrible. First, the menu online is incorrect. That was a disappointment since I had decided what Iwanted before walking in. Our appetizer was Cajun Queso Dip. The homemade chips were burnt. My entree was a Ribeye PoBoy. The sandwich had more shredded lettuce and tomato than meat. The meat was gross and flavorless. It had so much grizzle that Ispit most of it out. I left half on the sandwich and picked at the other half. My husband ordered the Breakfast Burger. Themeat was overcooked, verged on burnt, not fresh but a frozen meat patty. The egg was overcooked. Normally the eggs are overeasy so the juice blends in with the burger. The onion rings were frozen. I doubt seriously they cook anything fresh. It'sprobably all frozen and they throw it on the grill and warm it up. I can't imagine what their 38.00 steaks would be like. Theonly good thing about tonight's dining was our waitress. We were actually on the Papa?s side of the joint owned restaurants. Papa?s had Sub-par bar food in a very crowded seating area.... We were literally sitting side by side with the table table next to us. Service was sketchy at best. Our order took over 30minutes. Meat pies were obviously made from frozen... no seasoning and gummy. Fried pickles over cooked in old grease and werevery salty. Ordered an oyster PoBoy from their sister restaurant/bar Mama?s next door. Told me they would bring it to me in 15min. Took over 30 min and was lukewarm, the potatoes were cold and I had to go next door to ask about it... (obviously wassitting on the counter for a while). Never made it through the front door after being skipped by the front house staff with a party of eight. I know mileage varies... on any given experience but after a 1.5 hour wait the group collectively made the call to walk. 1/5 stars do not recommend. Read more
