Reviews for Mariner's Restaurant in Natchitoches, LA
Went there to eat with my wife last week and the food/drinks are all great. The bartender and server were both beyond awesome. ... But I must say I was appalled at the conduct of who I found out by asking a server, was the owner. She spoke to the employees ina way that made us feel very uncomfortable. Advice to her, praise in public discipline in private. Not professional for aclassy place. Read more
First off the place is really nice. But, the food is sub-par. I ordered the grilled chicken breast. It was so over cooked... and dry. It was no more than 4 oz of meat. I asked the waiter if it came with a side and he said no. So I ordered thestuffed potato. Well it did come with green beans. The meal was $29.00. Last time they will get my money Read more
Really enjoyed our night! The bartender was great and the food was delicious. The seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly. Will... definitely be back. We ate at the bar but will sit outside next time to enjoy the gorgeous view of the lake. Read more
Fine dining on a very scenic location. Service was excellent, food tended towards the more spicy side.
More than just a dinner. My wife and I are from San Antonio, Tx, but we?re born and raised here in Natchitoches. We popped in... late last night for the Ahi and steak. The food and service were both excellent! We were not surprised at all by the level ofquality, when we found out that the new owners were actually our wedding planners back in 2002. They hosted our rehearsaldinner at the Mason Louisiane, we exchanged vows under a 200 year old oak tree on the riverbank and actually had our weddingreception at the Mariners! It was also ironic that I actually worked at the Mariners during the 80?s while attending NSU. Somany amazing memories, I think we have a new tradition now. I would be remiss if I didn?t mention the excellent bar service aswell. Will definitely be back. Congratulations! Read more
The staff here was so pleasant! We came an hour before the kitchen closed, but everyone was still so patient and outgoing. I... asked for a virgin drink and our waiter, Mason, brought over a great virgin margarita from the bar. The food and atmosphere weregreat so we will definitely be back! Read more
Atmosphere and service were absolutely lovely. Our server was named Hannah (I think) and she did a great job for a busy Saturday... evening. However, my food wasn't impressive and overpriced for the quality. The soup was overly sweet, the salad was limp andbland with croutons that had gotten soft. I would go again and try a different dish. Read more
Restaurant probably still regrouping after reopening from fire earlier this year. We had reservations were promptly seated but... it took 15 minutes before a waiter approached us, not our waiter, but "a waiter" and asked if anyone had been by? It was obviousas we were directly in front of the wait station or so we thought. After our waiter came by we proceeded to order wine, afterthree tries of, "sorry we're out of that", I said, "then you suggest something you do have before we keep asking and you keepchecking"... the waiter had to go back to the bar tender for a suggestion. ???? A prepared waiter has a fallback favorite in thecategory(red/white) and in a similar price range. When asked for an appetizer request, "sorry we are out of oysters" ... it's7:30pm on Saturday night? Mind you, this is a highly rated restaurant serving during the Christmas holidays while NatchitochesChristmas lights are ongoing. How can you be out of so many items? They brought out our bisque appetizers with our salad. Uh,no, that's not how it works. We were there for 2 hours, which was okay as we were with another couple and were visiting.Service was just "okay". Food was good, not great. It's likely the only upscale restaurant away from downtown festivities. Makereservations, cross your fingers. They may figure it out as they work through reopening. Read more
