So I had the food truck quite a few times and was excited to check out the restaurant. I'll be honest, and I wasn't a huge fan.... The grilled cheese is just fine. They aren't anything groundbreaking. I also wasn't a huge fan of the milkshake either. Totallyoverpriced and wasn't grand. It's such a generic place that feel so overpriced for no reason. You can make this stuff at homefor a fraction of the price as meer minutes. We went during lunch on a week day and it wasn't busy at all. After seeing The Grilled Cheeserie featured on a TV program, I was determined to give them a try. Who can resist trendy,... diverse, gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches? When I tried The Grilled Cheeserie, I had the Tennessee B&B -a cheesy melt withstrawberry jam. My visit was at their food truck. Service was good. Food was hot and fresh. I was really pleased. My wife and I visited The Grilled Cheeserie after a day of touring Nashville. We arrived about 4:30 before the place got busy.... We ordered our food at a counter at the rear of the restaurant. A menu board behind the counter clearly outlines therestaurant's offerings. We both decided on the B&B of Tennessee. It's a sandwich made on multigrain bread with white cheddarcheese, thick cut crispy bacon, and caramelized apple shallot jam. The sweetness of the jam plays nicely with the salty, savorybacon, and the bread had great taste and texture. Add the gooey deliciousness of the cheese, and the result was an outstandinggrilled cheese sandwich! Along with my sandwich I ordered old fashioned tomato soup. The soup was creamy and full-flavored. Itwasn't overly sweet, but tasted natural and homemade. My wife ordered homemade chips and French onion dip. The chips are crunchyand are good all by themselves, but the French onion dip complimented the chips well. As for beverages, my wife got lemonadewith strawberry preserves, which she really enjoyed, and I ordered an unsweetened iced tea. The tea was clear, crisp, andrefreshing. The staff at The Grilled Cheeserie were friendly and professional, the restaurant was squeaky clean (including therestroom), the atmosphere was inviting, and the food was delicious. This has been a favorite spot of mine for years now, and I?m so far behind in reviews. Each time I come in I?m greeted warmly... and receive excellent service from the welcoming staff. Between the awesome staff and the outstanding food, I?ve lost count onhow many times I?ve been here (I?m from Murfreesboro, if the drive tells you anything), but I?ll let the pictures speak forthemselves. Their Milkshake of the Moment always keeps me on my toes in the best way, and I can?t wait to see what flavor isnext. When I?m not getting a milkshake, I usually pair my meal with a cherry coke float that?s out of this world with ice cream,bits of cherry compote, and glass bottled coke. Obviously my favorite sandwich is the Pimento Mac and Cheese, though the SpinachArtichoke Melt follows close behind. They also make fresh, in house chips and dip, along with tots you can smother in cheese, ortomato soup perfect for dipping. I?ve never had anything here that I didn?t enjoy, and am still always up for trying their newcreations other than my all-time favorites. Trust me, you can?t go wrong with anything here. Stopped into Nashville and this spot next to Vanderbilt university has some of the best shakes ever made! And they have a nice... southern spin on grilled cheese sandwiches that range from giving a little smoked southern kick along with the Mac and cheeseinside or you can make your own however you want it! A must try! This is not a typical grilled cheese sandwich, they have specialty melts with ingredients like cranberry jam to... grilled cheese stuffed full of mac and cheese (cause you can never have to much cheese). You can design your own with any of thecheeses including a vegan cheese and finish it if with several other filings that they offer. Of course you cannot forget to tryone of their milkshakes. Delicious grilled cheese sandwich. Not the best I?ve had but it?s good and you can make your own. The filling for my sandwich... wasn?t too much.. it was very lights. Loved dipping the sandwich in the tomato soup but didn?t enjoy eating the soup alone. Read more
Comfort food anyone? Who doesn?t love a hot, crispy grilled cheese sandwich made your way? We loved the experience and every... bite at this sweet place on vacation. The menu isn?t huge but it is plentiful with choices for ingredients. Or, make it your wayit?s your choice. I had tomato, spinach and basil on mine with oozing cheddar cheese and it was melt in my mouth goodness. It?spricey but it was a treat to enjoy. It was clean and the atmosphere bright and open.
