Okay Nashville Natives and New Comers , I have been coming in this restaurant for years here and there, but today I must... ?Review?!!!!! Plate#1:Turkey Sausage Omelette is SMACKING! Tattas&Onion are the best I have ever had from this place(let thatperson always make?em)! Apples, are straight out of the can and need lots of help. Plate#2: Chicken w/ Gravy over rice is justokay for me (heavy garlic) gravy is usually much better. This was my first time here. The soul food choices were of a good variety. We went pig style and got pigs feet and hog maws,... turnip greens, white beans, sweet potatoes, and hot water cornbread. I must say with the exception of the sweet potatoes, thefood was EXCELLENT! It reminded me of my grandmother's cooking in the country. We ate in the car because the smell was tootempting to wait. We were extremely satisfied. The only thing was the sweet potatoes was too runny. The flavor was good and onpoint but it was like an uncooked pie consistency. We definitely will be back. We are planning at least 1-2 times a month. Onlybecause the prices are a bit much for one meat & 2 veggies at $13-14. I also advise to get there right at opening to avoidwaiting in line. Food is amazing! However They always open late and take they sweet precious time to take your order. Don't have anywhere to be... or don't come on a lunch break. its pretty ridiculous. i waited outside for 20 minutes, then another 15 minutes because theyopen late, then another 7 minutes for them to take my order. Listen let me tell you something if you like good old soul food that "somebody put their foot" in this is the place to... be!!! Every item I have ever purchased from silver sands has always been flavorful tasty,WITH LOVEEE & not bogged down with abunch of Grease and just that old fashioned cooking that your mom or your granny used to cook for you!! Today I went by I gotspaghetti sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top fried chicken spinach tomatoes onions- lemon pound cake and some fried applesand let me tell you that aim to please !! I'm extremely happy every time I'm in the Nashville area I always stop by to get myfix!! The place is small but even though it is small THE FLAVORS make up for in the variety of food they have The smilingfaces really makes you feel & home.. inside is you're surrounded by music from the good old days. The O'Jays,Temptations andmore none of that newfangled music that really ain't got no soul, rhythm or a real purpose to it. They even sell Kool-Aid( yeahthe kind from house party) your food comes packed in a nice styrofoam container they provide you with eating utensils that havesalt pepper napkins everything you need. If you go right around the right time like I normally go in between 11:00 and 11:30you get to watch the news and you get to sit down with I believe it's the owner's mother and watch Young and the restless??seeing that today really reminds me of being a kid not wanting to watch it with my mom,but I know love it- the place gives youthat reminisce feeling. The food is tasty. The cashier is very sweet. BUT, they are slow as hell. It dont make no sense. I walk in and line going to the... door. Staff moving like molasses, no sense of urgency. I know our ppl in general dont invest in making a business run smootherbc we try to keep all the money in-house- but we have to do better. I went on a Friday and yes it was lunchtime -but a 30-40minwait JUST to order, then another 15 min or so to get food is unacceptable. There were like 10 ppl behind the glass, there is noreason it should take that long to make a plate. I tried to call the order in - NO answer. Tried to order on Doordash - businessclosed ability to make order online- Please do better and make your business more consumer friendly and accessible. Then myorder was wrong-I added a fried chicken leg- I got and was charged for 2 wings - but after waiting it felt like hours I justtook and went back to work. Also, the porkchops are way too small and thin. The cook is also using way too much pepper andsalt. We are in different times now and ppl are no longer willing to support just because. Ppl's time and money is precious andthere are a lot of options out here. I want to continue to be a patron of this business- but not to waste an hour of my time ona simple TOGO order!
