If I could give this spot more than five stars, I absolutely would. The food was spectacular, the decor/art was amazing, & the... overall feel of the restaurant was comfortable & it felt like home. But none of that would matter if the customer service wassubpar, which it most definitely was not. Ms. Lady (I didn?t get her name, but I believe she was the owner) was the only workeroutside of the kitchen & you wouldn?t have even known. We came in as a family of 7 before noon, & she took excellent care of uswhile still tending to the other customers. 10/10 place, 10/10 food, & 10/10 service. What a nice, quaint spot to eat. I loved all things about it; the ambience, service, food, art and music. We were greeted and... seated shortly after entering. Please note that there is limited seating, so if you go during a busy time, please expect towait. Our order was taken and we were checked on multiple times after placing our order. If I had to say one not so good thingabout the restaurant, it would be about my food (chicken) not being done when it came out. However, the owner addressed myconcerns immediately and corrected the issue. And boy was that chicken and waffles good. We had visited this restaurant twoweeks after one of the owners had passed away, and so it was a blessing to see everyone continuing to push through and meeteveryone in great spirits. I love that this is a black owned restaurant who also gives opportunities to those that are disabledin one form or another. I would definitely recommend and return to this restaurant. Read more
1st Timer! Let me start by saying You never know what someone is going through! Not that it?s the customers business and not... that you have to care but given the previous reviews I?ve read that are recent-People need to be BETTER at being decent humanbeings! Me and my girlfriend sat at the bar for Saturday Breakfast/Brunch and the atmosphere just felt so warm and comforting tobe there. Service was good! We met the Owner and the owners niece which were also our servers (God Bless y?all) were nothing butinviting! Food was really good, it had a nice home cooked southern taste to it and the Mimosa?s was on point. And let me notforget the Love I have for Smooth Jazz/Blues but even better live ????. This has been the best restaurant I have EVER been to in my life from the pleasantness of the staff, to the delicious food, to... the live entertainment to the owners open door policy. I felt at my home surrounded by friends and family. The place is full ofcompassion, love and kindness. They treat you like you belong without judgement. I love Kathy's story of how she opened thisrestaurant with her sister. Ask her about it. She gives back to the community by donating hot meals to those that can't affordthem and she helps those young children eat when there are no free school meals. Monday through Saturday meals are prepared toorder and on Sunday it's buffet style. Any time I can return to Tennessee I'll make it a point to stop in and enjoy my home mealaway from home. Read more
