King Tut's is perhaps Middle Tennessee's greatest example that the passion and authenticity of cooking does not require gimmicky... signs and pretentious buildings to serve food with the same care and attention that a kitchen would serve to their ownfamily. The freshness and authenticity was only eclipsed by the kindness and warmth behind the face and words of theowner/operator. Admire this man's culinary devotion as well as his thriving garden of plants on the patio. See if you can spotthe fig tree. Best falafel I've ever had! Brown crunchy outside and warm soft inside, perfect for dipping in the tahini and feta. Very good... hummus and thick pita (almost a crusty bread), both seemed made from scratch. Our kids loved it, and the kitchen said theytoned down the chili spices on our chicken a little since they saw we had young ones. At $13 per plate, it was a bit pricierthan I expected from a food truck in this area of town, but it was well worth it. The patio area attached to the truck wascovered and inviting with tons of plants, hanging lights, etc. Loved it! Read more
