Good barbecue ???? right on the broadway strip. Great location and interior has a cool homey feel for something right in the... middle of all the action. They also have a nice patios area, that?s where I ate. The pulled pork sandwich was great, corn breadwas a little dry. And I?m not a huge fan of the mac & cheese but that might not really be their fault. I?m more used to a bakedstyle of mac & cheese, which unfortunately does not seem to be common in Tennessee at all. Stick with the pork! Pork ribs are ok but a little dry and pulled pork is very good. If you are a fan of central Texas... brisket, this is not it and you will be disappointed - no bark and no smoke. Staff and service are very good. Read more
Easily one the best spots on Nashville?s famed Broadway. Get away from the hustle & bustle and enjoy some of the best BBQ meats... in the area. Small dining area that is cozy and inviting. We were lucky enough to get to sit at the Famed Payton Manning table.The ribs have a great rub and need to additional sauce for flavor. Good amount of food for the price. Read more
Wow this place was delicious! I?ve had good BBQ and this is in the top handful. The pork shoulder was great and all the sides... were tasty. I was pleasantly surprised with the greens beans. The spiced apples were so good, it was like dessert! The mashedpotatoes were excellent and my favorite side out of everything. I had a bite of the Mac n cheese, which was the perfect textureand creamy, but a little plain in flavor for me. I wasn?t super hungry, so I ordered the child?s meal with an extra side & itwas perfect for me. Highly recommend! Beware - if you go on a Saturday night, the line is out the door. Recommended by a local but, I was still skeptical. I walked around but nothing smelled as good as Jack?s, so I went back. The... ribs were amazing. I appreciate a good smoke flavor without sauce. Very busy when I visited, but they still kept the line flowing quickly. Great service, friendly people working the counter.... Prices were reasonable and the food was great. I had the "St. Louis" style ribs, Mac n' cheese and the mashed potatoes andgravy. All of it was great! Quaint store front eatery with more seats on the upper patio. My whole group loved their food and wehad a great time. I highly recommend Jack's, it was some of the best BBQ I've had in a very long time! Read more
I need to start off by saying that we are very spoiled with delicious St. Louis BBQ so we have very high BBQ standards. With... that being said, we were very disappointed with our lunch today. We got there shortly after opening at 11:00 on New Year's EveDay. I wanted the 2 meat combo of brisket and sausage. They were out of sausage so I got the brisket platter with macaroni &cheese and potato salad. The brisket was tender, barely warm, and not much flavor. They were out of the sweet BBQ sauce so Itried the Jack's original BBQ sauce. I did not care for it at all. We also ordered the pulled pork sandwich with green beansand coleslaw for sides. The pulled pork was tasteless as well - again, it would have been nice to try the sweet BBQ sauce. Maybe it was just an "off day" but we will not be going back. The meals are fixed "buffet style" or "cafeteria style" so you gothrough the line, choose your meat and sides, pay, you get everything in a "to-go" plastic bag, fix your own drinks, chooseyour table, and eat. It is a neat looking restaurant and is in a prime location for the excitement in Downtown Nashville onBroadway. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. We think they were serving the leftover meats from last nightand maybe that is the reason for our poor experience. Absolutely Fantastic BBQ!!! Had the Brisket...Pork Shoulder...Ribs...Mash Potatoes...Mac N Cheese...Everything was delicious... with zero complaints...very easy to order and got to seat ourselves afterwards...staff was very friendly...pit master showed myson and I the smoker and also shared a cup of rub with us!!! We are here from California and it was great to be treated tooutstanding BBQ...Will definitely recommend and be back to this place!!! Read more
