Cashier couldn't hear me at the speaker(drive thru) so she asked me to pull up. I then ordered 1 chicken and shrimp combo with 1... side (fries) and a drink. I then ordered a chicken and shrimp combo with 2 sides (fries,potato salad) and tea. Checking the foodbefore pulling off I had tenders with the right sides and drinks but no shrimp so I said to her I ordered chicken and shrimpcombos she said she heard tenders now idk how u get TENDERS out of CHICKEN AND SHRIMP COMBOS WITH 1 SIDE AND THE OTHER WITH 2SIDES BUT ANYWAY they gave me shrimp I just kept the tenders cause I was ready to go home but I was disappointed in the tendersthe chicken has more seasoning or some. It's been awhile since I've had smithfields chicken & bbq. The BBQ was great and so was the hush puppies, even the staff was... very nice....But the big issue here is the Banana pudding.... Let's use our brains for a sec, homemade Banana pudding hasBananas in it, BANANA PUDDING IT SELF HAS BANANAS IN IT! Making the pudding Banana flavor dose not make it BANANA PUDDING! Definitely NOT what we had hoped for. I'll give credit to the FRIED CHICKEN for being crispy, not dried out so tender and... tasty. For the rest of the meal: All the tables needed cleaning. The food took 22 minutes from order to table. Banana Puddingwas a HUGE LETDOWN ..it tasted tin can like and not ONE slice or sliver of banana in it. $6.99/pint for Brunswick Stew...all wecould taste was tomatoes and the chunks were mostly potatoes. It had no discerning tastiness to it. How can we go wrong withhush puppies? Right? Wrong. These were very greasy so the fat was not the right temp to drop them down in. We aren't from North Carolina and wanted to try something that would exemplify Carolina BBQ. The pulled pork was vinegary as... you'd expect from Carolina BBQ. It was tender and not smokey. I give it a b for a grade. The shrimp were very shrimpy in size,lightly breaded and gently fried. They were still very tender and tasty with cocktail sauce. The hush puppies were the star ofthe meal. Shaped like little sausages, they were crisp and had good flavor. Service was very nice for a very crowded Sundaylunch time. The fried Chicken had the texture of KFC original fried Chicken, but didn't have overly strong flavors. If you likethe strong flavors of Cajun style fried chicken joints like Bojangles or Popeyes, this won't fit the bill. But if you likecrispy chicken that is wholesome and good in its own right, you might like this. Read more
