Food was good. Fries and onion rings just dumped in bag without a wrapper on them. Dining room still closed

We have been going to HWY 55 restaurant for years and the food was delicious! However, now they close at 3:00 in the... afternoon...This is the time people are wanting to eat an early dinner or a late lunch! This is ridiculous! They "claim' to beshort staffed!!! Well, so is everyone else...but other restaurants do their best to stay open! To the "managers, owners, orwhoever it is that runs HWY 55's...YOU need to pay better wages and keep your employees working while at the same time keepingyour customers happy. If this closing at 3:00 doesn't end soon they will be losing our business along with our other friendsbusiness. We are tired of it! Man up and get off your poor wages!!!! Read more

I had honestly never eaten at a HWY55 before and then when I went there I really wanted to be BLT but I'm allergic to all fish... and shellfish. And they told me that they fry the bacon in the same grease that they fry all the fish related items in. So thatwas probably not going to be a good idea. But the waitress went and asked to cook and he was able to put it in a different thingthat didn't have the fish exposed to it yet and I was able to have my BLT and that was wonderful. It was a delicious sandwich. And their fry portions were very generous. Read more

This was our first trip.to Hwy 55. We are new to North Carolina and we don't have have these up north. At first blush, this to... me was "poor mans" Johnny Rockets. The place we went to the Nashville location. It was a store front in a strip mall. Theinterior was quaint. It tried to capture the malt shop feel of the 50s. It did well. Service was super. I got a burger and thewife got a chicken cheesesteak. I got tots, she got rings. We were both very happy with the flavors and the portion size. I gota bacon, BBQ cheeseburger. The BBQ sauce was tangy but not overpowering. It was topped additionally with chili, onions and anonion ring. Both burger and tots were well seasoned. Tots we not oversalted. Very good. The wife enjoyed her chicken Philly. Itried an onion ring. Flavorful and well drained. We went for lunch. We were pleasantly full. Any larger portion would mean takehome or overeating. Food was out quickly. Not fast food fast but fast enough. The whole experience made for a great lunch. Read more

Love going to Hwy 55! Whether we eat in or a call in, our order is always on our table or ready for me to walk in and be out of... there very quickly. Always cooked fresh either way. Food is plentiful and even still great when we get it home! Read more

2 p.m. visit for lunch. Both of us wanted coffee. "Sorry. We don't have coffee." Seriously? As with all Hwy 55's, decor is fun.... Food bore little resemblance to how it looked in the menu's pictures, but tasted OK. Hot dog was a very unnatural shade of red.Hate to think of all the red dye #2 it contained. Well staffed. Restaurant was full but we were greeted and got a table rightaway. Our waitress was precious. She checked back often and seemed to really care about whether we were happy. Read more
