Reviews for The Ferguson House Bistro in Nashville, IN
This is a wonderful place to have dinner in Nashville. The chalkboard entree for dinner we had was pesto salmon. It was... obviously prepared by a high-end chef. The have sandwiches too. We ate on the patio and watched the Nashville explorers go by. Great experience. Highly recommend it. Read more
We were super disappointed. We went there because of vegan options. Only 2 options available, we each got one. My lentil soup... with pasta tasted good. Poor presentation for $20 entree. No bread, no garnish, nothing. Dish had about $1.00 worth ofingredients. My wife?s vegan sandwich with eggplant and veggies was super thin. We won?t go back. Read more
My family loves it there. Such great quality food and so many healthy options. They are so nice there and always have great... customer service. One of the few places we can go for a fair price and get fresh food with amazing quality. Excellent choicefor plant based diets or even paleo. They cater to a wide range of dietary choices. Read more
First time eating here and it was so good. The winter panini was so delicious. It has an onion spread in it that makes this... sandwich top notch. The artichoke soup was fitting for the cold weather. It has spinach and artichoke in it, along with chicken. The creamy soup has a slight spicy kick to it which was perfect. The price is high for the area but it was definitely worth it. Read more
100% recommend visiting this place when in Brown County, Indiana. They close at 5 (which we did not realize when we arrived at... 4:45pm), but served us anyway and didn?t seem annoyed at all. The food was AMAZING! Our appetizer was a hot crab dip with pitathat was so delicious. We also had the winter salad and French onion soup, both very good and the salad had lots of freshingredients. I got the Mac n cheese that had grilled chicken, mushrooms and truffle oil. Was very good and a large serving sowe had plenty to take home! My husband got the flatbread (only thing we thought to take a pic of). It was delicious and light. The staff was very friendly, the chef even came out and chatted with us. Can?t wait to come back and try the spring menu! They also have a ton of vegan options that sounded amazing. Great place for all! Read more
Where do I even begin! My grandma and I first came the week they opened. Our veggie panini, spinach dip, french onion soup, and... service was divine! It was warm weather so we set outside and it was lovely. My husband and I enjoyed lunch there a few monthslater. We eat off the plant based menu. It was delightful. The vegan mashed potatoes, Sauerkraut, polish lasagne, carrots, andcabbage were fantastic! The dessert, that was also vegan, was out of this world! We both left extremely full and satisfied.Dustie- the chef was amazing. We had questions regarding the plant based menus and cross contamination. She was so friendly andtook the time to talk with us. It was so nice because our daughter is anaphylactic to dairy products. We can?t wait to go andtry more tasty food as a family. I feel so grateful that our community is offering plant based options and allowing our familyto dine out in a safe manner. Read more
First time visit. Got the half-size (which was plenty big enough) butternut squash & apple salad on mixed greens, and a cup of... the squash & pumpkin soup. Both were very good. The iced tea was pretty weak (needed to be brewed stronger to have more flavor),so I switched to a cola. Waitress was eager, returned several times to check on us. Read more
In Nashville, Indiana for dinner prior to the Yes concert 11/52022 at Brown County Music Center. Ferguson House is a quaint 2... story clapboard house. Wood floors. Bright lighting. Beware, the dinning chairs are metal for those with back trouble. Thereview. House salads were great, fresh and crisp. The pork belly was half meat and half fat cap. Fairly flavorless. Ifyou've never had it, don't start here. It's difficult to get pork belly right. Burnt ends using belly is great, otherwise ifyou like a lot of fat go. Salmon had a pesto sauce as topper. The salmon was ok but the flavor profile of putting pesto on itwas not a good taste . Total flavor conflict. Brown sugar glaze, blackened with good spices or just lemons is ok. Pesto , no. Airline chicken was a bIt over cooked and covered with "peach BBQ sauce". The sauce tasted like out of a bottle and wasobserved to have some globs of peach jelly. Suspect bottled BBQ sauce meets peach jelly in a bowl. The fingerling potatoeswere way over cooked. The irregular slice sizes led to burnt thin slices that very hard in texture . Lastly the Bistro HarvestBowl. A bowl of spaghetti squash , sweet potatoes, assorted seasonal veggies, topped with a house made lemon preservevinaigrette . The bowl Included Brussels sprouts and some mushroom tops. This dish contents were over cooked , flavorless andonly a scant taste of the vinaigrette. Our diner had to reach for salt and pepper twice to enhance the flavor. The pieces wereburnt in some cases. In all, our party of four was disappointed. The lunch menu looks like Ferguson House may be able toexecute satisfactorily . Might want to stick with ordering the Bistro Burger at dinner and /or go for lunch for the wraps andsimilar bar fare . Service was great , food was not. Unusual for a party of four to run into bad dishes for all. Dinner menumay be a bit over their head. The 2 star rating is based on the food, not the service. Best!
