There isn?t a lot of things to mention about this place, service was good the hamburger was good quality (top 5 burger for me) I... upgraded to the truffle fries honestly could?ve went with out the upgrade, they were good just not what I was expecting. Overallthe actual deli part was pretty nice I didn?t get any sorta meat to go but everything looked quality (tad bit expensive) but youget what you pay for. Jimmy P's is probably a 4 star all the way. I'm simply rating the hot dogs I bought in the butcher shop. I bought boneless... spare ribs and some other meat and all was good. They said the hot dogs were the best around. I'm not sure what "around" theywere referring to, but I'll just say they were the worst I've had. I opened the package and the odor was not pleasant for a hotdog. Just strange; not spoiled. When I cooked them in a cast iron skillet they didn't cook well, so I butterflied them and thepan filled with fat from the inside. Lots of fat. But the most telling thing is that the taste was unpleasant and not evenremotely like a hot dog. Sort of a mild, off-putting hint-of-kielbasa flavor. Yuck. Very disappointing considering the price. Don't let this detract from the butcher shop or the restaurant. UPDATE 8-31-2022: I stopped in today for some meat cuts andwas pleasantly surprised by some of the things I found. Not even on the radar, but still wonderful, was the selection of winehere. Although a smaller selection it was very good and I found some excellent wine at fair prices. In addition, theirselection of ground beef, buffalo, pork, and other choice cuts was very good. Cooked ribs and other prepared meats, attentionto detail, and butcher shop on one side with restaurant on the other. Read more
I hate to write a negative review but the 3 of us just had a really bad meal. Ordered the tuna appetizer, which was warm and... did not taste good, the house salad which came out warm and the rib eye which literally was 75% fat and covered with this brownsauce. Check was $210 not including tip and we had no drinks. The waiter saw that we did not eat most of the rib eye and whenhe asked how was it I said it was a fat feast he said...looks like that but did not do anything about it, not that we werelooking for anything. We are not complainers so we paid and just left. Just thought I would give a review that this place isvery expensive and not worth it. I was there once before and had the hamburger which was good. After today's lunch at Jimmy P, I feel like getting a bumper sticker: " My son had the best steak of his life." Boy, the kid... was happy?something not so habitue in his teenagehood. Visiting Jimmy P is a complete experience. Like the "meat Disney World."You enter the place through their butcher shop. The restaurant is on the left-back?very cozy, all wooded with booths and anelectric fireplace, and a bar. The service is efficient and savvy of what they sell. So ask your questions. My son had a sirloinmedium cooked. That was the perfect way. My husband and daughter had burgers which were juice and cook to perfection. I had acorned beef sandwich. Unforgettable to my palate. Some crunchy parts, some juicy ones. Next time I will ask them to be easy onthe bbq sauce. That would have been the perfect sandwich. There were just two dessert options that made sense when you tried anexcellent key lime pie. Spongy and not too sweet. And a chocolate chip cookie baked by the front desk mom. Just like your mom'scookies. Read more
This is the best steak I?ve ever had. I could just leave the review at that but I?ll expand; I grew up in Chicago, live in LA,... and have traveled around the country from New York to Nebraska and have never had a better steak. Not at Schula?s, not atGibson?s, Morton?s, Smith & Wollensky or anywhere else. I had the Tomahawk which was massive and for $80 is the most affordableTomahawk I?ve ever had. I have paid over double ~$170 for this cut at other restaurants for less meat and less flavor. The highheat grill at Jimmy P?s creates a beautiful crust with their seasoning; it leaves a nice charred crust with a beautifully juicy, red, flavorful inside. Words can?t describe how good it is, you just have to go for yourself. Skip the charred octopus, and thesalad was just okay. Go for the steak. They also have a fantastic wine list, the Super Tuscan paired beautifully. Read more
Passed this place on way back from Naples pier sunset. Man was this worth the u-turn! First amazing stock in deli/butcher shop... and the dinner was exceptional. We both had the baseball steak with some sides.... and started with the bacon wrapped scallops. Great food, great wait staff and we will definitely be eating and shopping here! Read more
Jimmy P?s is really good! The food is delicious, the steak seemed a little undercooked but it tasted great as well as all the... extra amazing sides! The tomahawk was awesome as well and it is definitely worth the price. The service is also supreme withrefills, quick service and the restaurant is rustic and nice.
