We gave both dinner and lunch a chance here. After these experiences and after reading recent reviews, I can say that I won't be... back. We had dinner on a Monday evening. The place was semi-lively, but not packed by any means. We arrived at 6:30 and it tookover 35 minutes for our entrees to be brought to our table from the time we ordered, and they were lukewarm. We noticed that ittook over a half an hour for the table next to us to be cleaned after the customers left. We dined in for lunch about a monthlater on a Tuesday afternoon. It was post-lunch rush, and only a few were dining inside. This time, we waited over 25 minutesfor our appetizer and an additional 10 minutes for drink refills. Once our entrees finally arrived, they were also lukewarm. Myside Caesar salad was swimming in dressing. Our fries had become soggy by this point too. It was a subpar experience. I gaverecent reviews a read once we left, and saw that a few others had a similar experience. Not only this, but the allegations thatan employee was fired for raising concerns about racism to management are especially alarming, if true. This has also influencedmy decision to not return. Me and my bf had an amazing time here, we were brought to a table inside but it was to loud for us so we requested a patio table... with some heat and our waitress Emily was happy to assist us, one more request was made by us to turn on the patio propaneheater and our request was met happily by the manager along with Emily, food was delicious and timing was great, honestly didnot want the night to end. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting good quality food, amazing service and all aroundgood vibes, endless thank you's to the staff and management such an awesome end to our night dining here. Good, but two orders were wrong and two servers tried to convince me it was right. Was here for a Birthday lunch. The beef dip... was really good. Had some kids meals at the table (one was wrong and quickly rectified). My order was brought out, it was alsowrong. I tried to explain it wasn't right (I ordered the spicy chicken burger but I got the non-spicy version). I spoke with twoservers to explain and both said, "it's a dry spice". To which I said, it's not spicy at all but there was no offer to change itout. I was offered more spice seasoning, I accepted but it wasn't quite right. I asked for hot sauce and continued to eat thefood. I will say the food was good, just not what I ordered. Read more
I hadn't been here for a couple of years or so, and the food is always fresh and delicious ???? My granddaughter and I shared... onion rings and chicken lettuce wraps. The onion rings have to be the best I have ever eaten, crunchy goodness that doesn't pullapart after the first bite (now this is big for me, lol) I have had the lettuce wraps before and still delicious, bite afterbite! Really liked the food. The outdoor area looks great, and is quiet being outside. Great menu selection, and not too expensive... really. Our server forgot a spoon with the meal. And decided to shout a dessert to apologise. A great gesture something wedidn't really mind. The cinnamon bun cheesecake was delicious by the way... In a similar vein to Cactus and Browns I'd say. Went there recently and was pretty amazed by the service being provided at Joe?s. First time coming here and we celebrated our... dinner spontaneously. Apparently this place is very gorgeous for hangout with friends, in groups or with the family anddefinitely their servings are extreme for fun goers. Probably it was weekend so we kinda felt like the service was bit slow maybe for no particular reason but as the food arrived we just literally made up our mind on it. Excellent location, deliciousfood and great service all the way. I will surely be back someday when in Nanaimo! Read more
