I visited for the first time today and the service was so incredible I just had to come write a review. Staff is SO friendly and... warm, I had a few questions and they were stoked to make recommendations- got their weekly special (salmon lox toast) and it wasso stupidly good I went back and got another one for my friend. I?m from Toronto & while visiting Nanaimo I went to Buzz almost every morning for coffee. The coffee was amazing, some of the... best I?ve ever had. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the owner even took the time to write out a list of coffee shopshe recommends. I love this place, and actually miss it when I?m in Ontario. If you are allergic to wheat, or gluten-free, this is a place to be (to be honest, just in general, as well!) The gluten-free... bagel was as close to a non-gluten free bagel as you are going to get! The gluten-free pancakes were fabulous; the softness andtexture was on point and the taste was scrumptious. As for the egg and halloumi sandwich, it had a fresh taste (the potatoeswere too good, too!). The folded egg was deliciously delightful. As for the drinks, the Pina colada fog was a nicely blended andinvented by Nolan (kudos!) - not shown in the pics. As a guy that doesn't drink coffee that often, I found myself really likingthe rattler; a mix between an espresso and grapefruit - which might not make sense, at first, but really works! (It's mindboggling - probably the acidity and bitterness of both combine really well). If you live in the area, or are just visiting, youshould give this place a go, or make it a go to, because it was all beautifully masterminded. ???????? The current rating at 4.6is very accurate. I don't live in Nanaimo but was thoroughly impressed when we found this humble little coffee shop on highway 4 on our way... through town. We were immediately greeted with incredible positivity and incredible enthusiasm. This shop is high on locallysourced and independent java proprietors. And our order came with an offer of a explanation of the beans in our cup. It's anunassuming spot. Humble. Nothing fancy. But when you're seeking good coffee isn't that all that matters (plus the service ofcourse). Read more
