Even though I live in Raleigh and Wilmington is so nice and far closer than the Outer Banks, I would never even hesitate to make... the journey to Nags Head JUST so I can eat at Greentails. Man... This place is the perfect seafood market and kitchen.Everything you see, smell, and touch is fresh off the boat. The owners are super friendly and it seems like they know everybodyon the island. Greentails is beloved by the OBX community and beyond. I can never resist the fried Mahi, but they also have somereally cool and creative asian fusion options on their menu which are part of what sets them apart from other similar spots. Iwould honestly recommend asking whats in season and getting whatever they tell you. If you're in the OBX, this is a must stopfor lunch. Make sure to check if they're open before you plan your trip! I had the fish tacos for lunch, which were mediocre at best. I was (mis)led here by the high rating on Google Maps, but it is... clearly overrated in my opinion. Either that, or only the fish tacos aren't very good, in which case they should improve them ordrop them from the menu to avoid my experience. The tacos weren't particularly tasty, kind of dry, and the combination offlavors didn't work very well together. Read more
Stopped by GTSM today for some after beach eats.. This place is a corner store in a strip mall complex with a store front and... kitchen. They run daily specials for food and have a stationary menu as well. Staff was friendly and store was clean. Foodwise we had fish tacos, black drum fish and a noodle bowl. All the food was great, but no indoor or outdoor dinning, prettymuch carry out only. Overall pretty dang tasty though! Read more
So many good things to say about this place! The people were so friendly and the food was delicious! I got the clam strips and... my fiance got the soft shell crab sandwich. We both loved our meals. Seasoning was perfect. Also my fiance has tried a lot ofhushpuppies and he said these might be his favorite. I look forward to the next time we visit OBX to come back here and try moreof their food!
