Barkeeps is a hidden gem! I frequent Palm Beach gourmet restaurants and Chef Siva?s food and elegant presentation rivals many of... those! The atmosphere in Barkeeps is very basic and simple, which makes the excellent food even more of a surprise! I?ve read afew reviews about the service not being the greatest - this is a small rural college town, with most employees working hard toput themselves through school. The prices are low, so please take that all into account before criticizing the service. Theyare the nicest people around. If you haven?t tried Barkeeps, you must! Get the salmon and fried rice! Normally when I come here (which is about maybe once every few months) I have a pleasant experience. Tonight was not what I... normally experience here. The customer service was okay but I ordered what I always order, the keeps burger no special saucepepperjack cheese no veggies with fries. I have never received a burger from this establishment where it was pink in the middle.The bun was so soggy on the bottom as well. I didn't even get upset about that. I simply asked the waitress if I could have atoasted bottom bun and she took it to the back and I got a new bottom bun (not toasted) but it was okay. Then I took a bite ifmy burger and it was good. The next bite I saw pink so then I broke the burger in half and it was completely pink! I was verydissatisfied tonight. The guy didn't charge me for my food because let's face it, I never got to eat! Came here upon Google's suggestion for Asian food. However, I didn't realize that this Asian fusion. My husband and I both... ordered pork ramen. It's more like a BBQ pork soup with noodles and veggies. Tasted good, just wasn't what I was hoping for. Theegg included in the ramen wasn't cooked through. We visited last night and I was very impressed. We were there for celebrating my brother-in-law?s life after attending his... viewing and saying goodbye. It was rough and when we got there we had vastly underestimated how many people would attend. Therestaurant could have turned us away, but instead they accommodated us with grace and patience. I can't say enough good things about Barkeeps. My only regret is eating too many appetizers and not being able to finish my... entree. The owners are so sweet! They speak to you like their family and told us the story about how they came to build theplace and the menu. They are also very gluten free friendly. If you're looking for Asian Cuisine - just come here. They wipeevery other Asian restaurant here out of the water. I'm so impressed at all the flavors. I'm just upset I haven't visited thisplace sooner. I assumed they geared to college kids for some reason. But, there's a lively bar atmosphere that's great if youwant to dine alone but not FEEL alone. Then the dining room is open and quiet if you want to bring your family. The curry is amust try on the food side. The blushing geisha is a must try on the drink side! (Just be careful, it's a sneaky drink thatdoesn't taste like alcohol.) I ordered through grub hub the beef pho. It was smooth getting it and it tasted pretty good until I got down to the noodles.... There was a full receipt mixed into the noodles. Not a fun surprise and something that is hard to miss especially for a chef tobe putting other ingredients on top of it. If you order here check your food before you eat it. Read more
