Reviews for Friar Tuck's Tavern in Mystic, CT
I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was here. I don?t mean that in a mean way, but sometimes bars don?t have the... best food and this was great. They had amazing homemade ranch and the mussels were delicious. Read more
Went on a Friday night, thus it was extremely busy-as such, wait times for everything was longer than usual (id assume)- 20... minutes to sit, 30 minutes for a drink, 30 minutes for an appetizer and 45 minutes for a main course- and 20 minutes for thecheck. Wait staff was friendly. Parking is extremely difficult. Priced reasonably- scotch egg was fantastic and Shepards pie wasspot on. Would like to revisit on a less busy night, but going towards the weekend will land you a 2-3 hour visit. Read more

I'm not a fan of pubs or bars but my wife wanted to have some Irish food. We had a scotch egg, I got the Tuck's Burger, and she... got the Sheppard's Pie. The egg was 7 dollars for only four bites of food. The burger was delicious, we both liked it. The piewas underwhelming and my wife did not like it at all. The place felt cramped and there were a lot of people so it was very loud. They would benefit from having a larger venue. Overall I'd say the experience was average. Read more
This place can't be beat! We travel all over the east coast for St.patricks day and this place has the best corned beef and... cabbage dinner. they have a great selection of other Irish dinners as well as traditional restaurant dishes. Great littlelocal feel. Friendly hard working waitstaff. Prices are good and portions are great. If your a whiskey lover this is yourplace, with 4 menu pages of whiskey from around the world. Went on a whim looking for dinner and to try some microbrews, loved the Scottish egg, which went well with the bangers and mash,... my wife ate the fish and chips and thought that it was excellent. Would definitely come back again. Read more
Friar Tucks is a fun place with two great atmospheres! If you feel like being a part of a lively Irish pub, this place can't be... beat. And, if you prefer a quieter atmosphere where you can have a nice conversation while enjoying delicious Irish food- theyhave a nicely heated and enclosed (for winter) rear patio area. What not to love in this warm and friendly place??? The food isfantastic and they have a great selection of bears- especially Irish ones. Personally, I enjoyed a hard-to-find Guinness creamale! So creamy and slightly sweet! The fish and chips are excellent and if you want even more "comfort" food, we recommend thehuge bowl of house mac-n-cheese topped with pulled pork and a bit of barbecue sauce- OUTSTANDING. Finally- our terrific serverwas Aiden. He made the experience go great. Staying in touch with us without being intrusive to our quiet spot! Nice job, madefor a great late lunch! Read more
Really, really good food. Service was just meh. The first waitress we had told us they wouldn't be splitting checks because we... had a large group. We didn't ask, but since she brought it up, there were 4 people sitting at the table. Not exactly a largegroup. The whole interaction was unnecessary. Our second waitress, though, was great and very nice. The outdoor patio area isgreat! Read more
