We discovered this gem of a shop on a recent trip to Mystic. Not a restaurant, not a delicatessen & not a wine bar in the... traditional sense. Just an inviting place to indulge in top quality charcuterie, cheeses, small plates & an excellent selectionof wines. If you are lucky enough to be served by Justin, as we were, his product knowledge just made us appreciate theexperience that much more. I can?t imagine anyone not being able to find something to their liking at the Block & Bottle. My friend and I are Mystic locals. For the last several years, we have sought out the best happy hour experiences downtown. Our... new hands-down favorite is Block and Bottle. It is a small, modern, comfortable venue housed on the second floor of a newbuilding on Water Street.\nBlock and Bottle offers an excellent selection of charcuterie along with an impressive wine andcocktail list. What makes Block and Bottle stand out is the staff. Justin personally selects each wine on the oft-changing andintriguing list, which clearly benefits from his talents as sommelier. We enjoy challenging him to introduce us to differentwines, and he never disappoints. As he is pouring a taste, he is telling us the story of the wine---the grape, area of origin,winemaker, and taste elements that make it unique.
