Would give no stars if possible. Food was terrible but that is fine. The issue I have is that we left a 50% cash tip (which is... normal as I know how it is to work for tips) but the lady chain smoking behind the bar working decided after we left to write inher own tip on my card receipt. Not only did she lose us from coming back but my bank has disputed the whole tab and they areout our entire bill for the night. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Read more
Both grilled chicken salad and patty melt were not as I ordered, because I always adjust what is included in the dishes as they... are described. It was neat that the owner was in the kitchen as chef tonight. Dorie, the bartender-waitress was lovely and verypersonable. There was smoke all around me. That was pretty awful. But then it is a bar and I certainly didn't have to choose toeat there in the smoke. Read more
Haven't been to a bar in years and was looking for a nice little place close to home to start visiting on a regular basis.... Prices seem to be pretty good. Limited selection on bourbon and scotch. Also a very limited selection of liquor in general. Iwould say the bartender was very responsible wouldn't serve people that came in that were obviously drunk already. They may bein need of security because I witnessed a two guys that kept getting into a heated argument which the cook was always quick tobreak up but was surprised they didn't ask one to leave especially the one that kept going over to instigate it. But all in alla pretty good little bar. The cigarette smoke wasn't too bad and I did step outside to smoke on my cigar and to escape the loudmusic. Popped in here for a drink and right away I was greated right away by the bar tender. The place does allow smoking but it... doesn't get stuffy which is a huge plus. They also have great drink specials and food. Definitely recommend checking the placeout. Read more
Great local spot. Dont confuse this location with the one on 38th Ave, N. That place is a complete disaster. This location is a... different owner, who is super nice. The bar food is very good. This is a great little place! I stopped in for the first time last night with my spouse for after-work drinks and we had a... wonderful evening. Tara the bartender was attentive but not overbearing. Drinks were cold, the food was fresh, and the tab atthe end of the night was honestly less than I expected it to be. A nice surprise! The atmosphere at Village Bar hits the sweetspot. Not too loud or boisterous to have a conversation, but there's definitely a comfortable energy buzzing along in thebackground. I'll be visiting again and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a nice spot to relax with friends or have acasual date night. Read more
