Back again to River City at Sands Ocean Club! A staple visit each year. Our server (I wish I could remember her name) was a... doll! So sweet and checked on us a lot. The drinks were decent, and the food seems to be a little less impressive than in yearspast. I still enjoyed my meal, but it just didn't hit the same. Maybe it was the selection I made... I hope it was not overallquality. Everyone else in the party seemed to enjoy everything. Of course we will always be back every time we stay atSOC. Decent food and the service was good. Overall positive experience considering it is a captive restaurant inside of a resort.
They have mostly burgers and chicken sandwiches, but quite a few items with unique twists. There is an alcohol menu an... appetizer menu, and a kid's menu here. They serve coke products. This was located inside a resort so it was a bit tricky tofind as there was no signage, a doorman had to point us in the right direction. I suppose most people who go here are guestsin the resort. Walked up to the bar to order a drink and manager says he doesn?t have to the staff to ring me up and they are only serving... people at the tables. Keep in mind they it was not busy and the manager also was not busy at this time. I said why can?t youserve me and he said because I am the manager and we don?t have anyone to wait on you. This corporation needs to work oncustomer service and how to treat loyal clients. A manager out of all people should know better than this. Read more
It's okay. One waitress was a little annoying. I've always used my id on my phone.. When ur traveling especially in this heat u... tend to leave items ( like ur is)and if another employee as well as Sands Ocean Resort taking my ID on phone u should've aswell. Instead u made up an excuse that ud be prosecuted which I looked up and that's not the case. Food was alright. But thewaitress made my time horrible and not something I've experienced here after 10 yrs of coming here. Oh we'll. Annnnd life goeson!! >>>>> Look down below. Every time we vacation we come here because it?s right downstairs, but it?s impossible to get anyone on the phone for a takeout... order, or they just flat out aren?t doing takeout. We?ve had this issue multiple times over the past few years. I had to goinside because I never got anyone on the phone, and there was a group of servers all talking. I walked right up to them and theyjust kept talking?so I went to the bar. When I said I had called multiple times I was told their phone was on silent becausethey aren?t doing takeout for 20 more minutes?nice. I guess they don?t answer their phone for their first 6 hours of business?What if I just had a question about their menu? I understand being understaffed and that affecting takeout but you should atleast communicate that in some way. A piece of paper taped the door that says ?dine in only? and nobody answering the phone isnot that. Tried calling 10 times after 5 and nobody ever answered then either. Edit: Was at the pool outside the next day at 4and saw multiple people leaving with takeout orders. So was I lied to or does the time they do takeout change day to day? Read more
Surf and Turf burger was amazing!!! Loved the chili sauce on it. Fried shrimp were lightly floured and tasted fresh and great.... Service was wonderful and we look forward to coming back before our vacation is over. Can?t wait to try the Blackened GrouperRuben Read more
