It?s so sad that the new owners that took over in 2021 haven?t even updated the website. They still have the previous owners... listed as the current owners. It was such a great place to go until the current owners took over. I guess this is what you getwhen a bunch of political appointees use tax payer money to show their ignorance. Sad. Read more

I understand the other bad reviews now. We were told we couldn't park our boat in the campsite like we have been doing for the... last 6 years. We do not bring a camper, we tent camp in the electric campground to charge the boat batteries, use CPAP machines, etc. Explained that we didn't have a camper and we have lots of $$ in fishing gear in the boat, we are not ok with parking itoff site. Got a wishy-washy story saying it was always a rule, then blamed it on new management, etc. This rule is NOT on thewebsite. In the meantime, the campground was a madhouse. Cars parked everywhere, including in OUR site. Had to find the ownersto move them. People blaring music and yelling at 2 am, amongst other things. All of which were rules being broken that ARElisted on their site. No one ever enforced these rules though. Reached out to them on their website explaining my frustrationsand looking for an explanation, trying to give them a fair chance before I leave a review. Never got a response, so here I am.What a shame... We used to love this place. Read more

I love the lake; however, I was treated very rudely by the campground host and did not feel welcome. It also seemed like the... other campers at Ed Bottoms campground were a tight nit group and they did not want anyone new staying in their campground. Ileft a day early because of this and would recommend Lake Murphysboro State Park, which is just down the road, for camping nearthe lake. They are much more welcoming at the state park, and the campground there is terrific. Read more
