Being from California and extremely spoiled being close to Mexico, it’s hard to find authentic Mexican food in Tennessee.... I’m always disappointed and left with an unsatisfied pallet. However, Mexico Tipico was okay. I tried the Birria queso tacosand it was good. Filled with lots of meat and flavor! I also miss seafood as I’m always complaining of the frozen taste. Againto my surprise the ceviche was spot on! My husband ordered the wet burrito, he said he’s had better. My son wasn’t impressedwith the bean and cheese burrito. The tortilla wasn’t hot and the cheese wasn’t even melted, but he didn’t want me to askfor it to be remade so he removed the cold cheese and ate some of the beans and tortilla. This place! The 1st time we went it was PACKED! We were the only "gringos" in the place and I knew then it was going to be bomb.... The birra tacos were so delicious! Super messy...but totally worth the 25 napkins I had to use. This is my new favorite place.So many more menu items that I'm looking forward to trying! Read more
Wow... just wow. Stopped by for the first time today and had lunch. I ordered and inhaled the Birria Tacos which were absolutely... incredible. Beef was tender and juicy. Cheesy yummy goodness. Huge portion and sooo tasty. Loved the broth. Staff was friendlyand helpful. Dining area is large and open. I'll be back very soon. So good. Read more
I’ve been to México Típico Restaurante many times for breakfast and those incredible Birra Tacos and breakfast Burritos but... this was my first time for dinner. Dined with a friend and we had a wide variety of food from Sopa de Albondigas (meatballsoup), Mulitas Carnitas, Sopes Spicy Pork, and Carne Asada. Everything was really good, portions are huge, and the meals arrivedhot. The Sopes was OK neither of us cares for the tortilla part. They were extremely busy but from placing your order at theregister you had your food within 10 minutes. Great food, not expensive, and they take your order quickly and deliver your foodfast! WOW, WOW, WOW!! What an amazing authentic Mexican establishment! We were in area looking to dine at another restaurant however... rhey were closed so we popped into Mexico Tipico! and what a great choice it turned out to be. 1st of all they offer the besttasting Champurrado (think hot chocolate but much better) in Middle Tennessee i have yet to find! It's everything it needs to beand hits all the spots in your belly and soul to give you that cozy warm feeling. It was a cold fall night so we were on thehunt for some soup - my husband tried the birria soup, it was one of the best he's ever had, it was beaming with authenticflavors, it is served with tortillas and the portion was huge, the price was great too! I went with the sopa de res (beed soup)the flavors are omg so yummy, all the vegetables were tender and the broth was very well seasoned, it's served with a smallportion of rice and cilantro, fresh diced onions and jalapeños and tortillas, very large portion and priced fair as well. Thekids ordered chicken tacos - they enjoyed the flavor of sauce the chicken is cooked in, it was served with spicy pickledcarrots. We've been back 3x since our initial visit with friends - we've tried the al pastor tacos, the asada, the lengua,barbacoa & carnitas all have been consistently flavorful and portions are good for the price. Some other items we tried andhave enjoyed were the mulitas, sopes, asada fries & quesadillas. The house hot sauces are fantastic too! Although theguacamole was flavorful and chunky, i felt the portion was not fair for the price charged. Truly my only food complaint. Anothercomplaint is the bathrooms, they are in desperate need of TLC, one of the women's stalls doesn't even have a seat and the smellemanating from the pipes is very strong and awful. Would absolutely recommend dine in over take out, sit down and enjoy yourhot meal. Will be fitting in breakfast soon as the menu looks amazing too! Read more
