This place is absolutely perfect. The general's chicken is absolutely the best I have ever had. And the pepper steak has the... right kick to make you want to get a double... trust me. We will be back soon. Read more

Hole-in-the-wall (primarily) Chinese dive right next to MTSU. Aesthetically not pleasing, unless you?re one of those people who... knows the best food comes from the kind of place that makes you wonder, ?I mean are they even open?? The General Tso?s and theSesame chicken dishes are phenomenally prepared. There?s real chicken here, not the mystery-meat nuggets you get most places(the stuff that reheats like dehydrated cardboard). I?m talking moist, seasoned, texturally balanced and well thought out flavorprofiles. Except the rice. The rice is average, but rice is average and so are people who think rice should be anything butaverage. I didn?t order the fried rice because that?s a waste of time; I was referring to the spectacularly bland and actuallykind of wet white rice I enjoyed with three delightful chunks of herb roasted pork tenderloin. The accompanying juices accountedfor the blandness of the white rice, and I sopped it all up with an oversized and (based on some of the newer reviews)underappreciated cabbage egg roll. Overall 11/10 a gem in Murfreesboro. If you?re gonna go to ?insert generic Chinese restaurantname here? give this place a shot instead and then thank me when you and your family are like ?wow, this slaps on a whole notherlevel.? Also they are on DoorDash and even though they?re right next to MTSU, they deliver all over Murfreesboro/Rockvale. Read more

As much as I like to give a good review this is one I cannot. Inside the restaurant just by looking at the surroundings you can... see it's gone down hill from the last visit, the service at lunch time was very slow because only one person waiting oncustomer's. The food was not at all up to the standard's of my last visit and the cost was the same. I will not be going backand I really love oriental food. A very big letdown. Read more

For us regulars, coming to Far East over the last 30 years, the food is not the same as it?s always been. The egg rolls are... different. The sweet noodles aren?t the same. The batter on the mushrooms is different. The sweet and sour pork & chicken isnot prepared the same. There was no vegetables mixed in. I truly hope the new owners decide to go back to the original, oldrecipes. If not, unfortunately, I will not be back :( Far East has always been my favorite restaurant. I will miss the oldrecipes! When we arrived, we were asked if we wanted to order from the menu or eat from the buffet. We chose the buffet. Each person?s... 2nd time plate was put in a to-go box and bag instead of letting us eat it there. When I paid the check, we were not charged abuffet price. They charge per plate and charge extra for egg rolls, etc. Not happy to have a bill of $89.50 for 4 people forlunch. We will not be back. Read more

This was my second visit to Far East. I asked for the lunch special with fried rice, generals chicken and egg roll. I also had... two cans of diet coke. I liked the generals chicken a lot better than the cashew chicken I tried on my first visit. Bothvisits were pretty expensive though for the location, atmosphere, and food. I think my bill was $16.
