OH YEAH?? THATS IT RIGHT THERE!!!! ATHENS PITA IS THE REAL DEAL HOLYFIELD!!!! I consider myself a Gyro connoisseur and let me... tell you, this spot is the TRUTH!!!! Best Greek fries I?ve had in all of NWI without a doubt. The gyro meat is the fresh and hasall three characteristics of a triple threat?. TENDER, JUICY & FLAVOR-FULL!!!!! The pita is soft and warm and almost melts inyour mouth. I ordered the gyro platter which came with 2 pitas, more than enough gyro meat to fill both, fresh cut onions &tomatoes, feta cheese and 2 sides of tzatziki sauce. Finally made our way to Athens Pita last night and they DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! I tried the Zeus Athen?s Double Burger! That thing... was simply amazing in every way imaginable! Soft bun, seasoned meat all throughout and complements of grilled onions, fetacheese, tomatoes, pickles and that Athens sauce?I was dancing the whole time after every bite! lol?my kids were like, ?Daddy areyou ok????Daddy is absolutely fine, ya hear me!!!? I came in yesterday and ordered a greek quesadilla, only had it once and it was good, but this time, far from satisfactory.... Highly upset! My meat, the little bit i had felt and looked like rocks. It was severely overcooked and burned, then they triedto mask it with a pound of sauce but was very noticeable because it was so hard to chew on. Also when i ordered this mealbefore, it came with greek fries in a long large container, but i got a small/half order of fries. I called them to tell themhow unsatisfied i was and all they offered me was another 30 min drive back up there, at gas being over $5 a gallon, to remakemy food. At least throw another meal in, a coupon for something?anything to compensate for my time and i paid and tippedtotaling almost $20. This was a waste of time and im still looking for the customer service. At this point im not returning, whywould i so i could drive out my way and receive subpar food??? As a Munster resident, I have always been disappointed by the gyro options here in town. Munster Gyros and Arney's are so... disappointing. Then Athens Pita came to town and they BLOW everyone else away. Their gyros is LEGIT and the meat is deliciousand fresh. And the portion is massive. I get the gyros platter and it is glorious. They also have a diverse menu with all theclassic Chicago staples. But the gyros is by far the best. I really really don't like Munster Gyros and was so happy when theseguys opened up. First time eating from this place since the new ownership. Price for a Gyros plate on the menu in restaurant says 12.99 , price... on menu they gave me says 10.99 but I was charged 13.51? I didn?t mind at first but then I got home and started looking at myfood. The meat was burnt and extra dry, tasted like it had been cooking all day. Not sure why the prices don?t match but it?swhatever. I won?t be eating here ever again. Read more
Omg thos place was so amazing from the customer service to the delicious food. I drove all the way from east chicago to try this... food that i was told would be delicious and i was not disappointed. It is so refreshing to be greeted with a smile and so muchfriendly energy. I decided to try a little of everything and it was amazing. I will definitely be back. Read more
This place is my boyfriend and I favorite place to get gyros. He loves their fries and I just love how much meat they give you.... The staff is always great. We always get the 2 gyro meal for the two of us. Read more
First time trying Athens Pita today. Based on reviews I had high hopes. My coworkers food was great they got Gyro wraps, and at... first bite my philly sw was amazing and then when I took my third bite I noticed the bread had a spot on the side, I flipped itover and the bottom of the bun was covered with spots of green mold.
