We had high hopes for this place based on overall reviews. Sadly service was a bit lacking and slow. We initially gave that a... pass since a large group came in five minutes after we sat down. Then the salsa was not good, better than tomato sauce but notsomething I would look forward to eating. The corn soup appetizer came out with the meal and was warm at best. The refriedbeans, maybe their spin on them, did not sit well with either of us. Now, to end on a good note the meals were good and we willprobably give them a second try. Hands. Down. Best. Mexican. Food. I?ve had my share of Mexican food in Texas and Florida, and I must say, La Paloma blows both... out of el agua. Make sure to get one or two or three of their drinks! We had the Mountain Home Margarita, the Carrot-Rita andthe Jalapeño Melon Rita. All fantastic because the oranges and limes are FRESHLY SQUEEZED at the bar, the jalapeños are freshand the watermelon is muddled into the drink. Trust me, it makes ALL the difference. We also had the table side guac. Superdelicious! Then we had the mole poblano enchiladas and the molcajete. The mole tasted fresh and homemade, and the molcajete isnot only a showstopper, but super tasty (also, it?s a lot of food. Prob could split it with your date). The entire experience was nothing like what Mountain Home has to offer. 10/10 recommendation to anyone that loves fresh,... authentic food, friendly and amazing service, and someone named Adrian, who is the best craftsman of over 240 hand made drinks.Seriously guys, these are too of the line, seriously raising the bar for anyone who appreciates the passion family can pour intoservice. Listen, I have eaten at a lot of Mexican restaurants, but this place is amazing. There?s nothing negative to say. Don?t let the... simple exterior of the building fool you. The tables and chairs are new and nice. The employees are professional, tend to youquickly, and get your order (even a large order) exactly right. Most of all, the food tastes amazing!!! Finally, a great Mexican restaurant in Mountain Home! The quality of the food is above and beyond anything else in the area.... There are interesting items on the menu other than your typical Mexican fair you find in the south. They have your standarditems as well. I will be going back for the mango habanero chicken. It was so flavorful and actually had some kick to it! Itcame with a side of fresh veggies that were actually fresh and chopped finely with careful knife skills. The tacos El pastorwere cooked well and the meat was tender. The tres leches cake is a must order. Service was excellent. Restaurant was clean andnicely decorated. Can't wait to go back! Read more
