Reviews for Hagel 1891 in Mt Sterling, IL
A little bit upscale I felt but comfortable at the same time. Our waiter was excellent. The cheese curds are freaking delicious.... I had the Ribeye steak it could have used a little more seasoning but that's just me. Would definitely go back. Read more
Recently had lunch at Hagels-the atmosphere is very nice. One diner’s meal was perfect, one ordered a well done... cheeseburger-it was raw in the middle. It was replaced but we were ready to leave by then. I ordered a Cobb salad that featuredavocado. I was informed after it was served that they hadn’t had avocados since Covid struck. Funny that I can buy them in thegrocery store. I wouldn’t have ordered the salad if I was informed ahead of time. Expensive and disappointing. Read more
Food is extremely over priced. I would of been happy paying the approximately. 15$ dollars for a cheeseburger if it tasted good... but unfortunately, it was bland and lacked seasoning. Presentation wise it looked appealing. Would not recommend and will not beback. The staff on a side note was very friendly and attentive. Read more
Nice place! Great food, too! Lunch offers large portions. Hostess seats you. It is better to make reservations if possible. This... building was actually built in 1897, but it has been very well maintained and built by Dot Foods. Supper offers just aboutanything from steaks to sea food, etc. It can be expensive depending on what you order, but you get high quality food! I highlyrecommend to individuals or families that enjoy fine dining! Restaurant is located on Main Street downtown. I forgot to mentionthat Hagels 1891 has good afternoon and evening hours. Read more
First time having dinner and it was amazing. Great menu options and portions were perfect. Norma and Bree were very personable... and checked on us numerous times. They even sang Happy birthday to my Mom. What a great restaurant to have in such a smallcommunity. If you are in the area, stop in and give it a try. You'll be glad you did. Read more
