Reviews for Midori Sushi & Steakhouse in Mt Sinai, NY
It's always a good experience. Great sushi and hibachi. Sashimi was amazing. Friendly and attentive staff.
Love their sushi and their miso is excellent, a must have! All of their rolls feel as though they are prepared with care and... taste so fresh. They have raised their prices a bit but it?s definitely worth it (not by much either). Also one of the onlyplaces I know on Long Island to have a Peppered Tuna ROLL and not just peppered tuna or tuna tataki, great stuff here. This wasa salmon avocado roll with miso soup and some avocado from one of their salads pictured (with eel and soy sauce up top). Read more
I would give 10 stars if I could! Such a clean environment and the aesthetic was so nice. We did a hibachi birthday party and it... was fabulous! The food all came out in good time and it was all delicious. We had the dinner package #2 which was literally thebest decision ever. Tons of yummy food, great options and variety, and turns out to be very good deal! The staff were all superfriendly and helpful and gave one of the best restaurant ?happy birthday? songs I?ve heard in a while! Will definitely return. Read more

This USED to be our go to but wow has the quality and portion size DIMINISHED! A few weeks ago we ordered a large take out order... and the rolls were extremely mushy, like the rice was soggy and every piece of every roll fell apart. On top of it the salmonsashimi was by far the palest salmon I?ve ever seen! We then had lunch there yesterday and both of us ordered a sashimi combo. As soon as the waiter set them down I immediately said out loud ?wow! These are so tiny!!? He just chuckled and said ?really?Maybe different chef?. So I replied, ?umm these are HALF THE SIZE THEY SHOULD BE!? He just shrug his shoulders and walked away. And for reference I?m a female. I usually eat a sashimi/sushi piece with two bites, not in one. And these were bite size!(Photos attached) He did nothing for us and instead mumbled things to other staff, almost as if this is a common thing andthey?re not doing anything about. Another thing weve noticed was a few months ago this place would be packed. But lately it?sso empty!! People are catching on that the quality, presentation and portion size are NOT WORTH THEIR PRICES! Read more
Sat at a booth (the booth seats are back to back, so every time someone moves behind you, it's like getting your seat back... kicked). Ordered a hot green tea that was served to me in a split, cracked mug. It managed to leak all over my lap and thetable before I noticed where it was coming from. Disappointed to see Escolar ("white tuna") on the menu. It has been banned forconsumption in Japan since 1977, as the Japanese government considers it toxic. Had a Tuna Avocado salad, the tuna was mushyand unremarkable. They forgot the sesame seeds on top. The dressing that accompanies was oily and flavorless. The Fried oysters(6) were a bit bland but otherwise fried nicely. Edamame was basic, a bit overcooked and numerous pods weredisintegrating. Had 2 spider handrolls that had wayyyy too much rice, the softshell crab was stuck on top like an afterthoughtand it fell out before the first bite. They charged for 2 full spider rolls @ $14 each, so $14 per half of a soft shell crab.Awful! Tried an assortment of sushi: Salmon, tuna belly, yellowtail, salmon roe, scallop, fluke, king crab. The sushi cuts are*tiny* and the rice underneath even smaller. They forgot to put scallop and yellowtail on the plate they sent out. They didremember to put them on the bill. Otoro was decent, somewhat stringy. B. Salmon cut was small, wet and soggy. C. Yellowtail =never served. Fluke, B+. King crab was overcooked & dry. C-. Ikura lacked any salting whatsoever, D. Scallop = hilariously smallrice ball under. It's like they ran out of rice. D. First time at this place via recommendations through local Facebook group. New to this area and we did not have a Japanese... hibachi place to go to. Pleasantly surprised here love the quaint atmosphere and very nice service. The chefs were engagingmaking some little jokes but not overly annoying at all. Prices were good. I would have given it five stars I just felt theBlack Angus steak as well as the more expensive filet mignon steak tasted very similar and could have been a little more tenderbased on whatever see from other places. That all being said I will be back and I recommend this place! Read more
Went on a Sunday and we sat right away, staff took our empty places and refilled our water right away. The sautéed oysters were... delicious and came out hot. Our waitress took our orders very promptly and we didn?t feel reached at all. At the end of thenight we believe the mgr to asked how everything was and if we were there for any special occasion. Place seem pretty clean, but only giving 4 stars bc one of the staff came out w our soup and salad and there was a gross strand of hair hanging at theboth of the tray. Lucky it wasn?t in our food but the rouge hair almost touched my water glass. Read more
