UPDATED: Bob, appreciate your quick response and I?m revising my 2 star to 5 as your store deserves it with the quality of... products - my rationale to update my star review is your approach to the problem and acknowledging your mistake and working onit. For future, my advise would be not to take away essentials till the real closing time, like chess pieces and water whichboth are important for your brand?s in-store experience. Original review:???? We've been denied full service: chessboardpieces have been removed from the tables and even my kids asked them to play with, but we were told they?re closing soon and forthat reason they?ve removed the chess pieces. We?ve also asked for water but the store manager, Bob, told us they?re closing in20 minutes, for that reason they?ve removed water pitchers. I don?t understand the reason why customers not able to fullyreceive the service till the store closures. If store closes at 10 pm, that means store giving service till 10 pm, if otherwisenot noted by the management. Never thought I'd be so thrilled with the service from an ice cream shop. It can't be difficult right? Order ice cream, receive... ice cream... First, the employees of this Oberweis were all kind, accommodating, and very pleasant to interact with. I wish Itook note of the name of the manager at the time, but it's great to see a manager helping his employees and genuinely wanting tomake sure his customers have a good experience. Right before closing, I came in with all the kids from our group to treat themfor ice cream during a hot, and busy time during the Mt. Prospect Block Party. We got through all the kids' orders (a feat initself) and of course the computers go down. Mentally, I was preparing myself to have to apologize to all the kids that weweren't going to be able to get ice cream. It would have been perfectly acceptable for the manager to apologize, but say theywouldn't be able to serve us. Especially since it was just a few minutes before closing. And at a time when people seem to begetting more rude, more impatient, and more unwilling to be kind to others, the manager simply said don't worry, I took care ofit and he made sure all the kids got their ice cream. Considering how late it was and how tired they must have all been afterworking during a concert, I was floored at how nice they all were. Can't wait to go back. P.S. Who doesn't like plain, single-scoop vanilla ice cream?! They have a wide variety of flavors of ice cream, in addition to shakes... and sundae. Very friendly people and ice cream I had was great. They also have chess on tables, which gave me an unparalleledopportunity to "destroy" my friend. Check. Mate. Just like the delicious icecream I had! Read more
