Menu for Kalinowski Sausage & Deli in Mt Prospect, IL

I've heard nothing but great things about this place for years and I've passed by it SO MANY TIMES! Today I decided to stop and... see what all the hype was about. I purchased 4 items: a loaf of polish rye; half a pound of kolachkes; half a pound of blackforest ham; and a small container of winter's stew. I drove home and put the ham an hunter's stew into the fridge, and I placedthe cookies and the bread on the counter. The next day I took out the ham, the bread, and the hunter's stew. I opened the ham,it was slimy and had a foul odor. The rye bread had a spot of mold on it, and the lid on the container of hunter's stew wasready to blow off due to the acidic gas buildup inside the container from the spoiled product inside!! I go there twice a year as i live in Aurora. The service is great and the Polish Sausage fresh is to die for. Alsi there... pierogies are the best since my grandmother made them over 50 years ago. You remember the best foods homemade no matter how oldyou are. Read more

Good polish authentic deli hot and cold plus PASTRIES TO DIE FOR

I give it two stars only because thank you have a big selection however I personally would not buy any of the baked goods cakes... pastries Etc I don't believe that it's very sanitary the way they keep them here they have it in an open front casing nothingprotecting these items from any little children that might enter the store and touch everything with snotty hands or adults thatdon't think before they sneeze and sneeze in the direction of it or near it. Those germs just flying around getting into thefood is gross or what's a swing your hair from one side to the next or what not and here's can fly off into it they also havemeats and baked goods just sitting on top of the cases by the deli and baking section to me that's not sanitary I wouldn't buyanything from there honestly the store is way too packed not easy to maneuver especially if there's quite a few people in thereI can honestly say I am not a fan of this store I only went because I had to take a client who wanted to check the store out Ididn't purchase anything here because I don't think that it should have open cases I really really don't like that Read more
