Irving Big Stop Restaurants are my favorite spots for quick food stops when travelling. I was on my way back to Halifax Airport... & wanted to have a quick bite before going to the airport. We decided on Irving because it's familiar (you know what you aregetting every time at an Irving Big Stop since the menu is the same for most if not all locations in Atlantic Canada. I ordereda bowl of the NL delicacy split pea soup with salt beef & veggies & a dumpling. MARVELOUS. THEN I had 1/2 clubhouse sandwichwith gravy on the side. It was perfect. Then to top it off I had a pc of Coconut cream pie. Also delicious & a small chocolatemilk. I wet from starved to stuffed in short order but OMG it was so good!!!! Read more
I went at noon, so it was crowded with a line up to get seats. This is to be expected though for that time of day, so I can't... hold that against them. The service was quick and efficient. The food was good and the price reasonable. I'll return, butprobably not at a peak time like lunch hour. Read more
This place use to be good. The prices have doubled since my last visit, unfortunately the quality of the food has worsened. The... coffee is horribly weak and absolutely disgusting - akin to a cup of warm dirty water. Read more
My family and myself went there at 4:00pm. Hardly anyone in the restaurant, they sat us at the table in a timely matter and then... so nicely forgot about us until they had a full house which took 30 minutes. Then never said sorry just made an excuse in notknowing who got their first, then 5 more tables came in and got sat down and received their meals and had their meals finishedand paid for. We was there for 1.5 hours with no food and a bunch of excuses as to why it was taking like it?s a bigger table toyour last to be done but their was also another table of only two that got ignored as well. Ordered a burger and was amazed at how off it tasted. It had a weird, mushy texture to the patty and tasted just like a can of... flakes of ham! I had everyone who was with me try it to confirm, and they all agreed that it was exactly like it. Definitely theweirdest and least desirable burger I think I've ever had. I went to this location with my family last night for my wife's birthday. She had the turkey pot pie while the rest of us had... breakfast for supper. The wait time wasn't long at and the service was really good. The food was excellent and the dessertswere awesome. This was a very reasonably priced meal for four people. Had a wonderful lunch date with my brother we both had breakfast which included eggs bacon sausage ham bologna home fries and... instead of toast a chocolate chip pancake it was all delicious but way too much food for me the price was reasonable consideringthe portion size and the staff, although busy, we're friendly and provided awesome service.
